We often write about big battery pack deals here on Android Police: 10K, 15K, 20K, or as much juice as anyone could stick in these portable accessories. This deal is different. It's about a small 2000mAh battery that costs three Washingtons or less than a cup of Starbucks coffee.
But what good is 2000mAh really? It isn't enough to fully charge any modern smartphone even once so why bother with it? Well, this one measures 3.8 x 2.4 x 0.25 inches (9.65 x 6 x 0.63 cm) so it's small enough to fit in a pocket or the hidden zipper of a purse, and carry with you everywhere. Read More
The Moto X Pure Edition is Motorola's third generation Moto X (aka Moto X 2015 or Moto X Style internationally). After two years of refinements, this most recent model got bigger and more powerful, but remained rather affordable compared to other companies' flagships. When Ryan reviewed it back in October, he said it was a joy to use and that the $400 you would put down on the 16GB version might be the best investment you could make on a smartphone. So how about $350 for the 32GB model? My math tells me that sounds even better.
If you like the feel of $100 more dollars in your pocket when buying a new smartphone, you'll be happy to know that Amazon has a daily deal today on the unlocked Moto X Pure Edition. You can save $100 on the 32GB variant, which brings the price of the black and white models to $349.99 and that of the white bamboo option to $374.99. Read More
About a month ago, Google engineer Benson Leung went on an Amazon crusade against companies claiming to sell USB Type-A to Type-C charging and data cables. As Benson found out from his extensive reviews, most of them were selling non-compliant cables with the wrong kind of resistor that could potentially damage your Type-C devices (like the new Nexus 5X, 6P, Chromebook Pixel). The list of correct cables was small and the braided
USB 3.1 USB 2.0 iOrange-E was among them. It also happened to be the cheapest back then at $14.99.
A month later, the situation has changed a little bit. Read More
I love my Nexus 7 2013. I bought it the day it was released in the US, shipped it over to Lebanon, and have used it daily ever since I received it. I find it to be the perfect size for reading and browsing, especially if you like holding your tablets with one hand. (I walk around reading on mine, I'm a bit weird like that.) The build quality also makes it awesome to throw on a bed or sofa without worrying about something getting loose or broken inside. It's also recently got Marshmallow, which makes it more up to date than most tablets out there. Read More
The Nexus 5X was, frankly, overpriced from day one. The 32GB 5X was a scant $70 less than a 32GB 6P, the latter being a substantially better device in most ways. As such, the Nexus 5X was predictably the only one of the two to get a Black Friday / Cyber Monday price cut. Google dropped the price of the 5X by $80, bringing the 16GB to $299 and the 32GB to $349.
Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday have ended, you'd expect that the 5X would have returned to its original price point, but no: Google has maintained a $50 discount on the device with no end date specified. Read More
ASUS' ZenPad S 8 is one of the more interesting Android tablets on the market right now. That isn't a lot to say given how tablet releases seem to have stalled and become a second-thought for most manufacturers, but it doesn't detract from the S 8's nice specs. The tablet, which was released back in July exclusively on Best Buy, has an 8" IPS 2048x1536 display at a 4:3 aspect ratio, a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3530 processor, with a MicroSD slot, USB Type-C connector, Android 5.0, and it usually retails for a very acceptable $199 or $299 depending on the storage and camera configuration. Grabbing a new SIM card might not be on your priority list every day, let alone right before Christmas, but if you were thinking about giving T-Mobile a try or if the uncarrier's tactics have made you curious and you want to check its network coverage and plans, now might be the best time to give it a go.
T-Mobile's SIM Starter Kits, which contain a prepaid Nano SIM Card with Micro and Standard SIM adapters, are seeing their price slashed to next to nothing. They usually cost $15 to buy, but with the code SIM99, you can get the price down to $0.99. Read More
Headphone deals are all over the place on Amazon and various other retailers' sites this weekend. But most deals we've seen so far are about wired headphones, which aren't all that practical if you don't want to be tied down to your phone by wires. Bluetooth is better, but switching to wireless usually involves some loss of quality, limited battery life, and a hike in price. Not so much with this BÖHM set.
These headphones usually cost around the $100 mark, they connect to your devices via Bluetooth 4.0 or an included 3.5mm cable. They have some playback control buttons, rotating ear cups, and what seems to be a nice leather headband. Read More
Let's face it, the new Nest Cam wasn't probably on your Black Friday radar because the cost of the unit is hardly in its hardware, but in the somewhat needed Nest Aware subscription. If you're willing to put down $100-300 per year on that, a few saved bucks here and there won't make that much of a difference. But since we're thrifty people and we think every dollar counts, we'll tell you about this Nest Cam discount anyway.
The Wi-Fi connected security camera has dropped to $170 on every online retailer's store: Nest Store, Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and Walmart. Read More
