Wonderful news for the roughly everyone on the planet who plays Shadowgun: Deadzone: a whole bunch of new stuff is rolling out today! Notably, there's the Gangs feature which allows you to create groups of friends to play with. There are also a couple new maps that you can explore. And by "explore" I mean "kill things in."

If you haven't played the Shadowgun: DeadZone beta yet, go do that. Well, if you have a tablet (or Galaxy Note), that is. It's pretty hard to play on a phone. But this is bar-none my current favorite game for Android, and I'm fragging away at it for probably an hour or so every day lately.

The game has been in open beta for around a month now, and after several patches, is apparently just about ready for prime time. The official launch of DeadZone (expected to be free-to-play) will be on November 15th. The only downside is that I'm assuming my rank and unlocked weapons will be going away when the new app is launched.

- You can now collect experience points (XP) and level up
- Protection for the beginners (players with RANKS 1-3).

Shadowgun Deadzone, the much-anticipated multiplayer add-on to the highly popular 3rd person shooter Shadowgun, has been teased by Madfinger Games on the company's Facebook page today. Take a look:

Tons of new character models (and weapons) are already the standout feature here. We actually heard about Deadzone back in January at CES, when Madfinger slated the game for a Q1 release. They initially discussed the idea of multiplayer in Shadowgun in October of 2011. We saw Deadzone again at MWC in February - we even got to play it. It was pretty fun. We've heard nothing since then.

Nvidia's CES press conference featured a few people playing Shadowgun together, which was a little puzzling, because currently that's impossible. It turns out they were showing off a new version: Shadowgun: Deadzone. The cool new thing about Deadzone, if you haven't guessed by now, is multiplayer support.

Deadzone is bringing all kinds of bells and whistles to the Shadowgun series. It supports 8 player online multiplayer, gamepads, and voice chat. I think that puts it on par with full-on console gaming. You also get a few new toys to impress your friends with: there's new sprint and roll moves, and, of course, more weapons.
