Coming Soon Soon To DashClock: DayDream Support, More Translations, Improved Weather Extension, And More [Updated]

When Roman Nurik's DashClock Widget hit the scene right at six-weeks ago, it became a favorite widget for anyone on Android 4.2+ almost instantly. For good reason – it's one of the most powerful, customizable, and best-looking widgets we've seen in quite a long while. Adding to its already-impressive functionality, there have also been a slew of extensions show up, making it even more powerful.

If you've been curious what's in store for DashClock on an official level, though, Nurik recently took to Google+ to talk about fixes and new features, as well as show off Daydream support for an upcoming build.

[New App] DashClock RSS Viewer Extension Brings Quick Feed Viewing To Your Lockscreen

We love RSS. We also love DashClock. So when we heard about a new DC extension that marries the two, well, we had to check it out.

Appropriately named, DashClock RSS Viewer Extension brings your favorite newsfeed(s) to your lockscreen (or homescreen, if that's where you use DashClock) by displaying the five most recent topics. It actually couldn't be simpler.

The extension comes pre-loaded with several feeds from some of your favorite blogs (including AP, of course). Alternatively , you can manually set your own. Otherwise, the only other option is the title: choose long or short. Past that, it's just your feed.

If you're currently dissatisfied with the selection of lockscreen widgets for Android 4.2 devices, a fantastic new entry from Android Engineer Roman Nurik just hit the Play Store. It's called DashClock Widget, and it's one of the cleanest, best-integrated widgets we've ever seen.

DashClock Widget combines many of the most common widgets – Gmail unread count, weather, calendar, missed calls, text messages, and alarms – into one clean, sophisticated, customizable widget. The clock is the only thing that's static, so you can choose which "extensions" should be displayed. And if you want to remove one, you can swipe it away in the settings menu.
