To help aspiring Android developers get off the ground and develop our next dream app, Android Police has partnered with O'Reilly Media, one of the largest technical book publishers, to give away a multitude of Android books to our readers. Each week or so for the next few months, we'll be giving away a different Android book offered by O'Reilly, asking for nothing but a minute of your time in return.

Following in the steps of our 1st giant XOOM giveaway, we threw another giveaway 2 weeks ago with an even hotter prize - the LG G-Slate 3D tablet (thanks to NVIDIA again for providing the prize!). With close to 2000 Twitter and over 1200 Facebook entries, I am now ready to name the winner who will be able to shoot 3D movies left and right like it's his job, all while playing Angry Birds and gChatting his family.

Horrific battery life on Android phones is nothing new, and neither is the mind-
blowing shattering frailty of said handsets. We've seen - and reviewed - solutions to both of these issues, but for those who want a convenient, all-in-one product, nothing beats XPAL's "PowerSkins."
Available for a variety of devices, PowerSkins are, in a sentence, silicone cases with built-in batteries from which your phone can sip juice once its internal supply has run dry.

Our first giant giveaway was a huge success, with lots of excited entries received from many countries around the world in the 2 weeks it was running. In the end, one lucky winner - Keef from the UK - walked away with a free XOOM Wi-Fi, excited beyond belief. While we could only pick one winner for that giveaway, I promised that more would be coming, one more awesome than the other.

About 2 weeks ago, in collaboration with NVIDIA we threw our largest giveaway ever, with the grand prize of a Wi-Fi Motorola XOOM, one of the hottest tablets around. What happened next was way above any expectations I've set for this contest - there were over 3,300 entries between Twitter and Facebook, with Twitter leading the pack with about 1900 and Facebook trailing behind with about 1400.
At first, NVIDIA was concerned about running the giveaway in countries outside the U.S.

This contest is now over. We have selected the winners - see if you are one of them towards the bottom of the page.
If you've ever used your phone for notetaking, you've no doubt heard of Catch Notes, and its impressive stats in the Market (i.e. a 4.5-star average rating and over a million downloads) are a great representation of its overall quality. It's got many unique features - organization is done with geo-tagging and Twitter-like hash tags, and the app also offers great social capabilities as well as SSL encryption.
