[Updated: They're Live] CyanogenMod: CM10 Nightlies For Several Devices Will Be Available Beginning Tonight

The day is here, people: CM10 nightlies will begin rolling out this evening. CyanogenMod took to its Google+ page just a short while ago to share the good news, along with a shortlist of device that should see a build later this evening:

  • The US SGS3 variants (note: the Verizon variant will require the recently unlocked bootloader)
  • The Galaxy Nexus variants
  • The Nexus S variants
  • The Nexus 7
  • The Transformer and Transformer Prime
  • The SGS1 variants (Vibrant, Captivate, International, and i9000b)
  • The SGS2 i9100g
  • P3 and P5 tablets

Update 8/18/12 12:14am PST: The first promised nightlies are live:


Definition: A "nightly" is a bleeding edge release that is built on a daily basis, usually at night after a full day's worth of new code has been committed.

Motorola Xoom, ASUS Transformer, Transformer Prime Get CyanogenMod 10 Test/Preview Builds

With the level of anticipation surrounding Jelly Bean and CyanogenMod 10, pretty much any news of a working build is good news. Today, test/preview builds of CM10 have surfaced for Motorola's Xoom as well as the ASUS Transformer and Transformer Prime (tf101 and 201).

Of course, since these are preview builds, they aren't perfectly stable. It's also worth noting that unofficial builds carry no guarantee of support or update.

That being said, the Transformer builds are surprisingly functional with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, sound, camera, video acceleration, some dock functionality, and most sensors functional.

International Galaxy S III Gets Its Own CyanogenMod 10 Preview Build

Yesterday, Cyanogen himself stopped by XDA to drop some preview builds for CM10 for some of US variants of the Galaxy S III. Today, the rest of the world gets in on the action, as TeamHacksung member XpLoDWilD offers up a preview build for the international Galaxy S III (i9300). As with the previous release, this thing is packed to the brim with warnings, but when has that stopped you?

CyanogenMod 10 Preview Builds Available For Galaxy S III On AT&T, T-Mobile, And Sprint

CyanogenMod 10 is still cooking, and heck, CM9 isn't even fully baked for all devices yet. That hasn't stopped Steve Kondik, aka the guy who puts the Cyanogen in CyanogenMod, from posting preview builds of CM10 over on XDA for the AT&T and T-Mobile Galaxy S III variants. Plus, a third preview build being posted for the Sprint version by another developer. Keep in mind, of course, that "preview build" translates into "absolutely nothing is guaranteed to work." It is exciting, nonetheless.

CyanogenMod Team Talks Jelly Bean, And We Like What We're Hearing

When Jelly Bean was announced, it's as if you could hear the entire Android community speak in unison: CM10! Anyone who has been around the block a time or two knows, though, you just don't ask for ETAs on CM builds. Of course, it wouldn't really matter if you did at this point - the JB source code isn't even available yet. However, the CyanogenMod Team took the time to address many of the questions on everyone's minds on their G+ earlier today, and we have to admit - it all sounds pretty good.
