A Few HTC EVO 4G Details: Will Arrive With Android 2.1, Will Not OTA Update To Froyo 2.2 Until Later, Comes With A Class 2 8GB MicroSD Card

On day 2 of the Google I/O conference, I spent about 20 minutes talking with a knowledgeable HTC representative at the HTC booth and tried to get some comments on a few questions a lot of you wanted answered.

1. EVO 4G Will Not Arrive With Froyo

This information is coming directly from the HTC rep who seemed very knowledgeable. The newly announced Froyo update is not going to be coming to EVO 4G in time for launch on June 4th, contrary to what we thought earlier (i.e. EVO getting an OTA update after the Froyo announcement). HTC only recently got their hands on some Froyo builds and will have to go through the lengthy process of merging their custom Sense UI code with it, which can take months.

As I recently started downloading and listening to lots of podcasts, I found that my Hero's 2GB MicroSD card filled up literally overnight.

2GB is such a measly number that disgracing the Hero with it any longer was a blow to both mine and its pride, so I headed over to Amazon to find a new faster, higher capacity storage card.

After careful deliberation and weighing all pros and cons, I ended up picking the A-Data Turbo 16GB Class 6 MicroSD card.

Considerations

Here are the factors I had considered before I picked the A-Data card:

Size

16GB was enough for my needs and 32GB was getting really expensive.
