Google Introduces Chrome To Mobile Beta – Send Live URLs To Chrome For Android In A Snap

It looks like users lucky enough to be running Google's Chrome for Android Beta now have access to another sweet treat – Chrome to Mobile Beta. Reminiscent of Chrome to Phone, Chrome to Mobile Beta is an extension for both desktop and mobile versions of Chrome that enables users to send live URLs from their computer to an Ice Cream Sandwich-powered mobile device, also allowing copies to be sent for offline viewing.

The extension is available for both smartphones and tablets, as long as they're running Ice Cream Sandwich with Chrome for Android Beta.

Chrome to Mobile certainly seems like it will make the Chrome experience on Android more practical and intuitive, allowing users to quickly grab a webpage, map, or video for mobile viewing on the go, and it will be interesting to see what other extensions are developed to help Chrome run seamlessly between devices.

Google's Chrome To Phone Android App Finally Updated (To v2.3) For The First Time In Over A Year

It seemed like Google completely abandoned one of its most useful Android apps - Chrome to Phone, which I personally use almost every day, but an unexpected update that showed up in the Market today shows us they still care about it, even if only a little bit.

The new version 2.3 comes over a year after 2.2 hit the Market back in December 2010 and brings a few improvements, the most important one being a crash fix after receiving copied text. This bug has plagued Honeycomb users for as long as I can remember (Honeycomb tablets didn't even exist when the app was last updated), so I'm very glad to finally see it fixed.

Android Chrome To Phone App Update Brings Link History

The Chrome To Phone Android app, exclusive to Android 2.2 and up, was updated today to version 2.2 with 1 new feature: link history. The app, which lets you quickly and easily send data to your phone from your computer's browser (see our tutorials here: ChromeToPhone, FoxToPhone), now has a single useful screen with links broken down to Today, Last 7 days, Last month, and Older. Here it is:

Unfortunately (or luckily), clipboard history does not show up in this list, so all your passwords and grandma's cookie recipes you might send around are safe.
