Chillingo's Power Ping Pong Is A $5 Game For Those Who Treat Table Tennis Like A Martial Art (You Know Who You Are)

When you're really good at ping pong, sometimes you start to feel like a ninja. Look at you, swinging that paddle back and forth, cutting through balls with so much force that it's a miracle they keep coming back. If someone took your persona and turned it into a video game, Chillingo's Power Ping Pong would be the result.

[New Game] John Woo's Bloodstroke, A John Woo Game By John Woo, Is A Top-Down Shooter Set In A Sumi-e Painting

Hey, did you know that John Woo made an Android game? You will by the time you read the Play Store description for Chillingo's latest title, Bloodstroke. The first screenshot is literally the game's logo and a headshot of the well-known Hong Kong movie director and producer, with his name featured twice. You know, just in case you didn't get the message. Exactly how Woo is involved in Bloodstroke isn't mentioned - is he a designer? Producer? Art director? Did he code the entire thing by hand on the set of Windtalkers? We don't know, and it doesn't matter.

To give credit where it's due, Bloodstroke is a gorgeous game, more because of its visual style than the polygonal graphics themselves.

[New Game] Fightback Fights Its Way Into The Play Store After Beating Up On iOS

Button-mashing beat 'em up games aren't super-common on mobile devices because there aren't really buttons to mash. Fightback makes it work by translating a flurry of taps and swipes into punches and kicks. Are there bad guys on the screen? Yes? Just tap all the things. It seemed to work pretty well on iOS, where Fightback was rather popular.

[New Game] Chillingo Releases Striker Soccer 2, But The Goalie Failed To Block The Ads And IAPs

With the 2014 World Cup just around the corner, now's a good time to capitalize on that excitement by releasing a soccer game. Building a franchise from scratch could do the trick, but if you have a popular title out in the wild, why not kick out a sequel? Sriker Soccer 2 has just hit the Play Store with more of the friendly gameplay that helped push the original to success.

Striker2

The controls are simple. Players have two buttons: pass and shoot. The computer AI will take care of the difficult elements like running, strategizing, and otherwise playing the game. It's the kind of passive experience that works great on a mobile device, especially when you only have a few moments to kill.

[New Game] Iron Force By Chillingo And Cool Fish Games Blasts Its Way Into The Play Store Like Only A Tank Can

When Namco's Tank! Tank! Tank! served as Wii U launch game in November of 2012, it was criticized for having little more content than a mobile game. As it turns out, that wasn't an exaggeration. That game's one drawing feature, hot multiplayer tank-on-tank action, is now available For Android in much the same form thanks to Iron Force from Chillingo and Cool Fish Games.

IronForce1 IronForce2

IronForce3 IronForce4

Iron Force lacks a single-player campaign, outside of the ability to play against bots. The idea is to compete against other players in 4 vs 4 teams or in 6-player free-for-alls. There are over a dozen tanks to pick from, and while they're all understandably clunky, there are plenty of available upgrades to improve them with.
