When it comes to podcasting applications on Android, there are certain ones that stand above the rest. Among those, BeyondPod Podcast Manager may be the top dog, and for this weekend only, you can score this awesome app for just $1.99 as opposed to the usual $6.99.

Note from Artem: I've been a fan of BeyondPod for over a year now and use it for managing, syncing, and listening to my podcasts exclusively. Listen? What Listen?

BeyondPod is packed full of features (so many, I just had to use bullet points. I do love bullet points):

  • Full Google Reader integration and sync
  • both audio and video supported, or just use it as an RSS reader
  • Complete podcast control: how many to download, when to download, and how many to store.

If you've been considering a new phone purchase lately, then this weekend is probably the best time to pick a new handset, as Amazon Wireless is dropping prices like crazy. Check out some of the deals that you can get:

  • HTC Inspire 4G (AT&T) - $0.01 with two-year agreement (new or upgrade)
  • Motorola Atrix 4G (AT&T) - $79.99 with new two-year agreement; $99.99 with upgrade
  • Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T - $129.99 with new two-year agreement; $179.99 with upgrade
  • Samsung Droid Charge (Verizon) - $179.99 with new two-year agreement; $199.99 with upgrade (doesn't apply to family plans)
  • HTC EVO 4G [White] (Sprint) - $59.99 with new two-year agreement; $149.99 with upgrade
  • HTC EVO 4G [Black] (Sprint) - $79.99 with new two-year agreement; $179.99 with upgrade
  • HTC EVO Shift 4G (Sprint) - $49.99 with new two-year agreement; $129.99 with upgrade
  • Samsung Nexus S 4G (Sprint) - $49.99 with new two-year agreement; $99.99 with upgrade
  • LG Revolution (Verizon) - $149.99 with new two-year agreement; $199.99 with upgrade

...and there's more where that came from.

Update: It's up for sale yet again today, Saturday, May 7th.

Woot.com, Internet's favorite a-deal-a-day site that I personally religiously check daily, is offering up an Android tablet deal today that may be hard to pass up for those looking for a beefy, yet budget, Android tablet.

The very hackable ViewSonic gTablet, which sports a speedy dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 CPU, a 10.1" 1024x600 TFT display, a front-facing camera, 512MB RAM, 16GB ROM, and USB host capabilities, is sitting there for the next 12 hours (or until it's sold out) for the very low price of $279.99 + $5 shipping.

Update: The 10.1-inch big brother of the A100, the A500, is also available for pre-order and ships on April 20, though it will cost you the substantially larger sum of £449. Why? It's packing an LED-backlit display (as opposed to LCD), 32GB of HDD space, and 1GB of RAM.

This one only applies to our friends across the pond for the moment, but Acer's first attempt at an Android 3.0 tablet has just gone up for pre-order on Amazon UK. It will ship on April 20, and it'll set you back a paltry £299.

With 512KB of RAM, my printer is giving the A100 a run for its money (Amazon typo much?)

This is without a doubt the most competitively priced piece of Honeycomb hardware we've seen to date, but its specs appear markedly different from the 7" prototype Android tablet we saw at one of Acer's press conferences last year.

Excited for the ThunderBolt? If so, you're not alone; but if not, you've got even more companions.

However, thanks to Amazon Wireless, haters now have one less reason to pick on the ThunderBolt: the online retailer is selling Verizon's first LTE phone for just $179.99 - $70 less than the official $249.99 price.

When you add free two-day shipping and no taxes (in most states) to the mix, this immediately becomes the best ThunderBolt deal available - in fact, it's $20 lower than WireFly's offer. Additionally, the $179.99 price also applies to upgrades - definitely a huge bonus for existing VZW customers.

Even though we thought Costco would be selling the Motorola Atrix 4G for AT&T for $149.99, the mega-warehouse decided to sweeten the deal a bit and dropped the price to $119.99 on a 2-year contract (this includes customers upgrading their existing AT&T phones too).

And that's not all - according to our tipster, whose track record has so far been spotless, Costco will be throwing in a free accessory bundle consisting of a case, a car charger, and a wired earpiece. After about $15 in taxes, this deal is just as hot, if not hotter, than Amazon's, but benefits from Costco's top notch customer service and warranty.

T-Mobile is planning a huge sale on February 11th and 12th to kick off the new year, TmoNews learned today. According to a memo sent to T-Mo retail stores, "it is expected to be similar to the first half of the Father's day promotion," which reportedly reeled in over 100,000 new customer contracts last year.

Little else can be confirmed about the sale until more information is provided on February 8th, but we can be sure that it will be a knockout because each store is being told to "max out as many employees as possible for the first half of the day."

Curiously, the big sale goes live 2 days before MWC, where we expect to see a flood of mobile related announcements and product launches - clearly, T-Mobile is having the fire sale before it's too late.

Introduction

If there's one thing CES told us about the upcoming twelve months in technology, it's that 2011 will be the year of Android tablets. And with noteworthy entries such as the Motorola XOOM, ASUS' lineup, and the T-Mobile G-Slate, it looks like the tablets' quality might be just as high as their quantity - at least hardware-wise.

But what about the software? After all, isn't a device's OS what makes or breaks it? And even if the tablets are good, will consumers care? Let's take a look at the top five areas Android tablets will need to succeed in.

There's no question Hexage's Android games are state-of-the-art - in fact, EVAC was #1 on our list of non-Angry Birds games - but there are those of you reluctant to spend your hard-earned cash on a game for your phone.

In an effort to alleviate that stress, the game development firm has cut the prices of each and every one of its games in half until Monday, January 3rd. As a reminder, Hexage is the company behind the following games.

It's worth noting that the discounted prices have yet to appear on AppBrain, so if you want to take advantage of them, you'll have to find the apps in the Market on your phone.

The Black Friday is long gone, but another, potentially even bigger event, called Cyber Monday, is now upon us. Cyber Monday is what happens when the Black Friday goes online, and Virgin Mobile USA does not disappoint. The carrier, which uses Sprint's network, is offering its only Android handset, the Samsung Intercept, for a whopping $75 off. The deal is valid for the duration of Cyber Monday, so hurry up if you want this 800MHz Android QWERTY slider for $175, with free shipping. The beauty of Virgin Mobile USA, of course, is its plans starting at $25 a month, with NO contract to sign.
