The latest Captain America movie is polishing its shield, because its release is inbound. But before that can happen, movie goers first need a chance to experience the action firsthand in yet another Gameloft title. Most of these releases aren't anything to get excited about, but the cel-shaded graphics in this one have piqued our interest. Check them out.
When a comic book movie hits theaters, you already know a movie tie-in game is on its way. The next Captain America film is scheduled to hit the big screen in roughly two months, so Gameloft and Marvel are teasing their upcoming game with a brief. While its existence hardly qualifies as news, its attractive art style and new gameplay mechanics may be reason to take notice.
The decision to use cel-shaded graphics is a fitting one.
Alright, so Avengers Initiative wasn't the earth-shattering mobile experience that its marketing made it out to be. In fact, according to Matt Demers' review, it's an Infinity Blade ripoff that only true believers will really enjoy. But for those who finish all their comic reading on Tuesday and are looking for anything more to scratch that superhero itch for the rest of the week, there's a big update to the game.
Timed with the release of its newest blockbuster movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel Entertainment is also pushing on the mobile front with the introduction of a surprisingly well done action game and, separately, a live wallpaper.
The live wallpaper, which displays the infamous unbreakable shield which deflects bullets left and right, is free in the Market (see the widget towards the bottom).
The game, naturally, features Captain America on a mission to stop Red Skull and mow down all the HYDRA soldiers in his sight along the way.
