We first heard about Vavo through its Kickstarter campaign – which was successfully funded by roughly 200% – back in June of last year. The product has been available in the retail scene for a little while now, and I've actually had a pair of them (one white, one black) for the last few months. As such, I've had plenty of time to get a feel for VaVo's strengths, as well as its weaknesses.
As someone with approximately 1600 gadgets laying around the house at all times, I constantly have charging cables everywhere. On the floor. On the desk. On my nightstand. In the kitchen, living room, and even the car. You get the idea. For the longest time, I have used the binder clip trick to manage the flurry of chargers on my desk. But now, UDS – the creators of Capta and Vavo – have a better solution: Snable.
I'd like to think that office/home organization is a pretty big deal to most people, because it certainly is to me. Perhaps it's just my nature, but I live by the motto "a place for everything and everything in its place." Then again, I'm a Virgo, so being a freak about things like that is engrained into my very being (or so I've read, anyway). Ergo, I'm always looking for new ways to make things more organized and easier to find.
A few weeks ago, UDS offered a deal to Android Police readers for a silver Capta and three PuGoo pads for $30. By now, the bulk of you who ordered have probably received your goodies, and some of you may already be looking for new ways to use Capta. We already know that it makes an excellent accessory to attach your phone to a tripod, but it also makes an awesome dash mount in the car.
I'm sure you all remember the "magic alien goo" that lets your device stick to basically anything - walls, ceilings, mirrors... whatever. When we first told you about it, the samples UDS had on hand sold out double-quick. Good news: it's finally back in stock! For $10, you can score one 8" x 4" PuGoo pad and stick your phone (or small tablet) virtually anywhere.
UDS is also offering a killer deal for Android Police readers: one silver Capta and three PuGoo Pads for a a mere $30!
UDS, the company that brought us Capta (which we loved) and now working on Vavo, has a limited quantity of pads made of what I called "magic alien goo" - a key ingredient used in its products. It's sort of a weird material made in part with polyurethane (PU), which is both sticky and not sticky at the same time - but in exactly the right ways.
I have been playing with a PU pad for the last month or so, and it's now become my trusty gym companion.
A few weeks ago we looked at Capta, a universal mount that adds the ability to mount your smartphone on a tripod. The creators of Capta, UDS, now have a new Kickstarter project that utilizes the same "alien goo" material to bring even more functionality to your smart device. Meet Vavo.
Basically Vavo is a nifty little gadget that uses the same sticky junk as Capta to hold on to your device.
How many times have you thought to yourself, "I really, really wish I could put my phone on a tripod!" Ten? Thirteen? Three-hundred-ninety-four? Regardless of whether or not you've ever actually said that to yourself, Kickstarter-lauched product Capta is an awesome little accessory that lets you do that (and more!).
So, what else can Capta do? Mostly, it can just hold your phone in various positions. This is actually incredibly helpful, though, for different functions.
Out of all the awesome accessories for smartphones on the market, Capta has to be one of the coolest I've seen in a while. It's a multi-functional accessory that works as a tripod mount/desktop stand, bringing some incredibly useful functionality to your device. Just take a look for yourself:
I know what you're thinking: how does it stick?! Yeah, I wondered the same thing after watching the video for the first time.
