style="display: inline" title="unnamed (1)" alt="unnamed (1)" src="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/unnamed-1_thumb1.png" width="150" height="150" /></a></p><p>Tasker, an extremely versatile (and popular) app which allows users to schedule (and control) various automated tasks, received an update today, bringing the app to version 1.2.</p><p>The update brings a handful of important changes, perhaps the most notable being the addition of &#34;Scenes.&#34; Using this new feature, Tasker allows users to design custom graphical interfaces, which appear as overlays, dialogs, or full activities.</p><p>Besides Scenes, Tasker's latest iteration also fixes compatibility issues with Ice Cream Sandwich, and includes a tweaked home screen, which conveniently divides Profiles, Tasks, and Scenes in an intuitive tabbed interface.</p><p

href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/11/21/galaxy-nexus-owners-experiencing-strange-volumemuting-bug/">mysterious volume bug</a> which surfaced on the Galaxy Nexus. The bug began drawing attention over at <a
href="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353072">XDA's forums</a>, where several users reported ostensibly random muting, and erratic response from the Nexus' volume rocker.</p><p>It was quickly discovered that the issue seemed to have something to do with the use of 2G signal, specifically the use of a 900 MHz frequency used by many European carriers. As some users had been suggesting, the problem does indeed link to use of 2G. However, it turns out that the issue can be replicated by the use of 2G <strong>even on another, proximate phone</strong>. In fact, there's a number of bugs, particularly the dreaded data connection drop, that make using the BIONIC a major annoyance at times. Verizon has apparently been keeping track, and has a very detailed list of the glitches currently afflicting the phone, given to a customer in a support e-mail (weird, we know). href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/07/06/confirmed-samsung-nexus-s-4g-receiving-grj90-software-update-on-july-11th-bringing-fix-for-radio-problems/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">much-awaited</a>&#160;<a
href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/07/07/nexus-s-build-grj90-is-android-2-3-5-world-keeps-on-turning/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Android 2.3.5</a> update for the Nexus S 4G, and it will start rolling out Monday, July 25th. The update brings a much needed fix for bogged-down 4G speeds on the handset, which have plagued users since the phone's release.</p><p>Additionally, some Wi-Fi bugs have been exterminated, the speakerphone should sound better, and TTY support for deaf users has been added. An official Sense, Gingerbread ROM was probably highest on the list of demands for Thunderbolt users (aside from better battery life, perhaps).</p><p>Unfortunately, at this time, we have to officially advise <strong>anyone using any ROM based on this leak to revert to a Froyo build or to CyanogenMod 7 as soon as possible.</strong> This includes <strong>any and all</strong> third-party Gingerbread ROMs for the HTC Thunderbolt <strong>not based on CM7. </strong></p><p>We don't take announcing this lightly, but we do so ...<div

Google, in response to widespread reports of a <a
