Carmageddon Review: Good Old-Fashioned Mindless Mayhem, But Not For The Faint Of Heart

I was seven years old when Carmageddon first hit store shelves in 1997. Even if the game hadn't been widely banned and censored around the world, I still wouldn't have gotten my hands on it. The off-the-wall violence and bloodshed would have been a bit too much for my parents to permit me to play with good conscience. While leagues of long-time fans poured money into the Kickstarter campaign that allowed Stainless Games to port the game to Android in the first place, I am visiting the game for the first time. Thank you, Kickstarters, for giving me the chance. To anyone considering giving Carmageddon a try - don't think, just buy.

[New Game] Fangz Has More Shooting And Blood And Shooting And Did I Already Say Blood? Than You Can Shake A Chainsaw At

In the mood to kill some vampires? Or robots? Or comically-large old ladies in bath robes? Fangz has you covered. This sidescrolling shoot-em-up has some Zombieville USA vibes going on, but even a quick look makes it apparent that this game is much, much more ambitious. The amount of weapons, types of enemies, and levels make this seem like an easy 'buy' at $0.99, and watching the trailer, this looks like a shotgun-full of fun.

The goal of Fangz is quite simple: blast the ever-loving crap out of anything that moves. Which, hey, sometimes is just fine as a premise for a game.

Fox Digital Teases Alien vs. Predator: Evolution, Coming Soon To Android And iOS

While I may have made my alliance to Predator pretty clear back in November when the official "Predators" game was released, it looks like I'll soon be given the opportunity to verify that with blood. Alien's blood.

[New Game] Super Falling Fred Brings More Speed, Traps, And Blood Than The Original Game

Man, this guy just can't catch a break, can he? As if there wasn't enough blood shed from our favorite death-defying ginger in the original Falling Fred and Running Fred after that, he's back for a third round in Super Falling Fred. Like the first, your goal is to make it from the top of a rather large shaft to the bottom without getting sliced by lasers, smashed by chomping doors, or impaled by giant spikey rollers.

The new version includes new traps, upgradable skills, and brand new avatars. If you feel like the red-headed victim has had enough, you can take out your frustrations with a sparkly vampire, an androgynous pop-star, a guy that doesn't seem to think that Cleveland rocks all that much, or Cameron*.

Renaissance Blood THD On Sale For Just $0.99 Through September 13th To Celebrate Latest Update

Renaissance Blood THD, a game exclusive to the Tegra 3 platform that we covered at launch back in May, is now on sale in the Play Store for the extremely reasonable price of $0.99.

The sale (which slashes the game's price down from $3.99) is in celebration of RB's latest update, which adds a third stage of gameplay to the existing two.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Renaissance Blood THD is a rail shooter set in the Renaissance just after Leonardo Da Vinci's death, with your goal being to find and assemble a scattered blue print left behind by Da Vinci himself, all while killing off enemies sent your way by Bart, a crazed Renaissance priest who shares your goal to get a hold of Da Vinci's plans.

Gears And Guts Goads You To Grind Zombies Into Goo With Your Gas Guzzling Death Wagon

When you're creating a game, there are a few key things you need to include: a good atmosphere (be it an intriguing story or just some wildly immersive effects), good gameplay mechanics, and a good hook. What's going to grab the users' attention? Well, for Gears and Guts, all three of those requirements can be summed up with "driving cars into zombies." Oh, and did I mention there's a sweet soundtrack to go along with it?

This game ditches any attempts at a story and simply plops you down in a nice little town that's being overrun by the undead, hands you the keys to a muscle car and says "Now have fun." Gears and Guts offers the user the choice of either touch or tilt controls, which is an absolutely lovely change of pace from games that either force you into one or another.

[Update: Now Available For Non-Tegra Devices!] The Amazingly Brutal, Yet Excellent Samurai II: Vengeance Hits The Android Market [Blood Warning]

With today's Motorola XOOM release, we are finding ourselves searching for apps and games optimized specifically for larger screens and raw Tegra 2 power. It doesn't look like we'll have too much trouble, as quality games have already started pouring into the Market.

The good news: 2 hours ago, Samurai II: Vengeance appeared in the Android Market.

The not so good news: the game is carrying the tag THD (Tegra HD), meaning it is optimized for Tegra-based Android devices only, according to its description. This means the XOOM, the Adam, the gTablet, and the Atrix are pretty much the only devices capable of running it properly right now, but with the advent of Tegra devices this year (the Bionic, 2x, gSlate, and others), we should all get a fair chance soon (hurry up, Sprint!).
