Our daily trawl through the interwebs has revealed an intriguing landing page at Verizon's DroidDoes website for the hotly anticipated Motorola Droid Bionic.

The page at www.droiddoes.com/#/bionic, appearing just a few hours ago, features an old-timey image of a television test pattern with the text "Awaiting Blogger Data Entry...". The image is surrounded by four boxes requiring "input codes" from the blogs Boing Boing, Boy Genius Report, Joystiq, and Android Central. It appears that after the input codes have been entered the video content will be "unlocked" and playable.

Just above each of the input boxes are identical countdown timers which all currently read: 19:11 (i.e.

Since Verizon still wouldn't officially give up the upcoming Droid Bionic's release date, all we've had to chew on so far were rumors of the September 8th release date here and there (the latter was then discredited as an unofficial account by VZW, so it really has no credibility anymore).

To throw another rumor into the fire, one that seems to corroborate all the previous rumors, today the folks at Droid Attic dug up what seems to be an image of Best Buy's internal system showing the Bionic in stock on September 7th. While that doesn't necessarily mean it will go on sale right away, the dates line up quite well for the perfect storm on the 8th.

Wow, this just might be the best deal we've posted in a while. Unfortunately, we're not 100% certain on the price, because the images we were tipped to don't exactly specify one. Still, based on the $300 mark we've been hearing, and Droid-forums' claim that their source says that's the number, we're starting to feel pretty confident in that figure.

If you look on the left hand side of that image, in the red area, you can see the text "Accessories Bonus Pack / $159.97 Retail Value / Includes Standard Dock / Vehicle Navigator Dock / Battery Dock and / Extra Battery." That's a lot of kit to bundle with a phone for just $300 on a new 2-year agreement!

Not really. Actually, the BIONIC looks pretty svelte in these images leaked by the good folks over at Pop Herald. Here's the BIONIC stand-alone, and side by side with the DROID X2:

While the BIONIC clearly is thicker than the DX2, it's not by that much. Of course, press shots (which these likely are) have a tendency to play with lighting and perspective in order to make a phone seem thinner than it might actually be, so until you hold it in your hand, it's all kind of relative.

Still, based on these images, it's thinner than I expected.

In  the past, teasers, trailers, and other forms of video goodness for the Droid lineup have left me in a state of awe. I can still remember the amount of excitement that I felt the first time I saw the teaser for the Droid X -- it was chill inducing. The second that eye lit up with the infamous red glow and the "droid" audio resonated through my ear canals; oh man, it was good. Great even.

More recently, the Droid Charge campaign came along and brought a full assault of LTE-meets-Droid awesomeness to your senses. The phone may be sub-par (at best), but again, the ad campaign was incredible.

The Droid Bionic, Verizon's most anticipated and delayed phone of 2011 (alongside the SGS2), expected to show up around September 8th, just got a few details we were curious about confirmed in its FCC filing docs, along with a slew of photos. Hilariously, it looks like either FCC has been testing this phone in a warzone or they have a pack of wild puppies around the office, because the device looks like it's just been through battle and gotten a Purple Heart.

Additionally, among all the boring test reports, we have quite a few pages from the Droid Bionic's user guide, which not only confirm a 4.3" screen (not 4.5" as was suspected at one point), a dual-core 1GHz processor, and 1080P HD recording, but also highlight the Bionic's LTE and world radios, in addition to 3G.

leaked roadmap
Last Updated: August 27th, 2011

Get ready, Verizon customers. IGN just leaked Verizon's alleged 2011 roadmap, and, unsurprisingly, it features Android quite heavily. While there aren't too many details on any of the devices outside of what we already know, it will give you a good general idea of what to expect from Verizon this year:

  • Samsung Stratosphere: Previously rumored as Verizon's version of the Samsung Galaxy S2, the Stratosphere is listed as a "4G Smartphone w/Android 2.3." While it isn't exactly confirmation, there is a chance that this rumor was spot-on. Prepare for its release on September 8.
  • Droid Bionic: Months after its original unveiling, the Droid Bionic is finally going to be available to purchase.

The amount of leaked information about the Droid Bionic that we're seeing is growing at a rapid pace now - even further proving that a release is drawing near. Today's find, courtesy of This is my next, is a leaked Best Buy teaser that touts the Bionic as an "all-powerful, unstoppable machine" - clearly displaying that Motorola is coming out of the gate with guns blazing to promote Verizon's first dual-core LTE phone.

While this flyer doesn't offer any information that we didn't already know, it does suggest that this phone should be hitting the streets sometime within the coming weeks, backing up the August 4th date that we saw earlier this week.

You saw some of the leaked Bionic pictures earlier today, but now thanks to PhoneHK we can give you even more information about the upcoming monster of a Motorola handset. First and foremost, this thing will (at least according to this test unit) be running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread right out of the gate:

That's a relief. If the Bionic had shipped with Froyo, Motorola might have had a user rebellion on its hands. What other goodies were revealed by the generous leaker about the Bionic?

  • 4.5" qHD display
  • 8MP rear camera, 1080p video recording, plus front-facing camera
  • WebTop dock accessory
  • Brand-new BLUR
  • 1750mAh battery (that's large)

You can see some of the new BLUR in action below in various screenshots, including a translucent notification bar and 3D homescreen previews:

Not bad, Motorola, not bad.

After digging through a pile of pictures from the Chinese website Moto.it, a tipster at MobileGearz discovered what appear to be leaked shots of the upcoming Motorola DROID Bionic. So, without further ado, here they are:

Yep, that's a Webtop dock you're seeing. Not to mention a completely new and revamped version of BLUR, Motorola's generally hated UI overlay. I have to admit, this version of BLUR actually borders on attractive. It's no Sense, but compared to the current state of affairs on Motorola's latest devices, it's a quantum leap forward.

You'll also notice that the phone itself looks almost nothing like the Bionic we saw at CES in January.
