[Editorial] Is Google's 10 Billion Apps Promotion Hurting Developers Who Aren't Part Of It? It Sure Looks That Way

In case you haven't heard, Google has been offering 10 apps a day for just $0.10 each as part of a 10 day promotion to celebrate the 10 billionth download from the Android Market. For end users, this promotion has been fantastic, as it offers quality paid apps for next to nothing. In fact, the promotion has also been great for the developers behind the promoted apps, who have seen hugely increased exposure, skyrocketing purchases, and higher spots in the "Top Paid" list. Let's take a quick look at the current state of the Top Paid list, actually:

By now, you're probably familiar with the rigmarole: in celebration of passing 10 billion app downloads, 10 apps per day for 10 days are on sale for 10 cents on the Android Market. We're on day four of the sale, and while the official Market page has yet to be updated, redditors have once again pitched in to figure out today's 10 apps:

If you missed yesterday's deals, you can still get them for another few hours until the promo page is updated for today.

Day three of the Market's "10 Billion Promo," and once again the promo page itself has yet to be updated with the new app deals for today. But no matter - reddit has come through (for the second day in a row, no less) with today's list of 10¢ apps:

At just $0.10, they're all a steal. If you missed any of yesterday's deals, you can still nab them for the next few hours until the page is updated, too.

It's day two of the Market's "10 Billion Promo," in which 10 different apps are offered for 10 days at just $0.10 each. While the official page listing still shows yesterday's deals, a little digging by redditors has revealed 9 of today's 10:

We have yet to figure out what the last one is, and Google has yet to update the promo page, but we'll be sure to update this post when we have more information.
