Before last week, the term "XLTE" basically didn't exist. Then rumors started pouring out that Verizon would be offering a new kind of LTE with twice the bandwidth of its current offering using this unheard of moniker as its namesake. Turns out all the rumors were true, as Big Red just took the wraps off of this new high(er)-speed LTE offering.
If there's one thing Verizon's known for, it's high prices. Errr, constant changes that end up costing consumers more money. No, that's not right either. Umm...red! That's it. If there's one thing Verizon's know for (aside from high prices and finding ways to charge customers more money) it's red. You know, the color. That's why we call it "Big Red." Heh.
Sometimes you just need to get a new phone, and you want it right now. But you don't want to leave the comfort of your house. There really aren't many good options to fix this age-old quandary, but Verizon is looking to provide a solution in a handful of cities.

T-Mobile may be a little late to the party, but there is plenty of love to go around. T-Mobile customers can now find the Galaxy S4 available from the carrier's website for the expected price of $149 with a two-year contract, in white or black. Overnight shipping is available for those who cannot wait any longer, and since T-Mobile is pushing this as a limited-time offer, you might not want to. Supply is limited, and who knows how long you will have to wait if these things sell out.

LG Announces The Lucid 2 For Verizon
If you just can't decide which mid-range phone you must have, Verizon and LG are looking to make that quandary even more... quandary-ful with the Lucid 2. As the name suggests, this is the sequel to last year's "breakout" budget phone. And while the Lucid 2 may bump the specs, it's keeps the same low price tag: free.
Update 3/18/13: AllThingsD dismissed the now-deleted claim by HTC's Twitter account that the One would not be coming to Big Red as bogus and reiterated that it is, indeed, in the works. As originally reported (see below), it's scheduled to arrive months after other U.S. carriers.
While Big Red may have just started pushing Jelly Bean to the OG RAZR/MAXX twins, the more modern HD variants of the devices are set to get a decent bug-fix-update as well. The details of the OTA just hit Verizon's support site, which generally means the update is ready to go and should begin rolling out within a few days.
If you're in the market for a new smartphone, Verizon's pixel-packing Droid DNA is hard to beat. It offers a whopping 440PPI in its 5" 1920x1080 display, along with a quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro and 2GB of RAM under the hood. Top all that off with Android 4.1.1, and you have an absolute monster of a phone.

Verizon Announces Several More LTE Markets For December 20th
After a couple years of working on its LTE Network, we've come to expect these monthly market activations from VZW. The lists started off small - consisting of mostly big cities - but as the towns get smaller, the lists get longer. Earlier this month, Big Red announced that it would be bringing LTE to a slew of new markets on December 20th:
Hey Verizon customers - I bet you've been jealous watching all the Note II action on other carriers, haven't you? We've seen the releases come, and Amazon Wireless slash prices for basically all versions of the device. Still, everyone on Verizon was left wanting. Good news! Big Red just announced that the Note II will be available beginning tomorrow, November 29th for $300 with a two-year agreement.
We already know that the Big Four will be getting their own respective renditions of the Galaxy Note II. We also expect that it'll also be part of a unified release much like the Galaxy S III. We've even seen how Verizon defiled its home button. Turns out leaving its mark on the face of the device wasn't enough for Big Red, though; the carrier has also done some work to the bootloader.

Verizon Officially Announces The Massive LG Intuition
Three short days ago, we heard that Verizon could be launching the behemoth LG Intuition - America's version of the Optimus Vu - beginning on September 6th. Looks like that leaks was pretty much dead-on, as Big Red just officially took what wraps were left off of this oversized monstrosity.
We've known for a while that Verizon is slated to get its own variant of the massive LG Vu, but it seems the "Vu" name just isn't good enough for Big Red. According to a new leak that landed in the hands of Droid Life, the Vu for Verizon is slated to be named the... wait for it... LG Intuition.

Verizon Announces Droid 4 Release Date And Pricing - Available On February 10 For $199.99 With Two-Year Agreement
Verizon Announces Droid 4 Release Date And Pricing
The rollercoaster ride that has been the Droid 4 release timeline is finally coming to an end. We first heard that this device would be released back in December, but Moto/VZW halted it for some reason, so we've since been waiting. Release date rumors have come and gone, but we caught wind of the 2/10 date about a week ago, and it turns out that it was spot on.
It was disheartening when Verizon found and plugged the loophole that gave users unlimited data, but Big Red's latest promotion may get users flocking to its doorstep once more.
The LG Spectrum is probably one of the most impressive phones that you'll find with a sub-$200 price tag in the current market. It may not be packing the insanely powerful NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, but don't sell it short - it's a sleek device.
