Developers, repeat after me: invisible keyboards never work. Do you understand? Good. I hope we're clear on this. Because after trying to use the ridiculous "invisible" SnapKeys Si, which blocks more on-screen crap than any other input software I've ever seen, I'm ready to throw my beloved Nexus 7 through the next wall to look at me funny.

Here's the basic idea behind how SnapKeys Si works: Instead of being given a full QWERTY keyboard, you get a selection of twelve letters, divided among four colored blocks.

If you're like me, you regularly forget your data cable at home, in hotels or at the 24-hour Pokemon Trading Card Repository. In such cases, 2011's New App of the Year, AirDroid, is a lifesaver. It's an incredibly comprehensive remote management app that lets you access your Android device via a desktop web browser, complete with file management, app installations, photo browser, and lots more. The creators are ready to step up their game with the second version of AirDroid, and have set up an invite-only beta.

Back in late October, SwiftKey announced a new feature called Flow for its hyper-intelligent keyboard. SwiftKey Flow takes everything you (and I) love about SK, and combines it with gesture typing, like that of Swype, or the Android 4.2 stock keyboard. Then, just a few days ago, they debuted the newest feature that would be available in Flow - called Flow Through Space - which allows users to swipe through full sentences without having to lift their finger from the keyboard by sliding down to the spacebar after each word.

Ever since Chameleon Launcher was released, users have been wanting to see a version designed for phones. Looks like that time is finally coming, as the Chameleon dev team has posted a call for 25 alpha/beta testers for the new project, requesting that they have specific phone models to test on:

HTC One X+
HTC One X
Samsung Galaxy Note® II
Samsung Galaxy Note™
Samsung Galaxy S3
Nexus 4
Galaxy Nexus
MOTOROLA RAZR HD LTE
LG OPTIMUS G
DROID DNA By HTC
MOTOROLA RAZR MAXX HD

It's pretty clear that they want to get this thing running on the current top dogs as quickly as possible - if you think you can provide valuable, well thought-out feedback, head to the source link to find out how to get in on the action.

I'm going to do my best to make it through this article without making a Portal 2 reference, but this new SwiftKey feature is not making it easy on me. After recently announcing Flow, the Swype-like gesture input method, someone inside SwiftKey HQ thought to themselves "Well, you know, this is great and all, but man, what's with all this raising-my-finger nonsense? So inefficient!" So now the company is demoing Flow Through Space.

In the desktop world, there is virtually no end to the number of music and video managers out there. MediaMonkey was one of the not-quite-legendary-but-still-popular options that excelled for its ability to change tags and run custom scripts. Now, users of this program can sync to their phones without going through an extra program with the MediaMonkey for Android beta.

The beta APK is currently available over on Reddit, and obviously comes with some disclaimers, and you'll have to install the newest version of the Windows app to use it.

When last we left our heroes XBMC for Android, the group behind the open source multimedia manager had announced that it would be bringing support to the platform soon. Of course "soon" isn't a word that tweakers like to hear, so some enterprising fellows compiled the source code into an APK for your testing pleasure, with all the disclaimers that entails. Today, however, a more official app is being distributed by the team with a hefty 'beta' tag attached.

To call Rdio's latest beta a complete overhaul might be a bit of a misnomer. The feature set is largely the same, even if the design has gotten a facelift. However, seeing as the music streaming wars are heating up, it seems like a perfect time to take a second look at the service that always seems to play second fiddle to the behemoth that is Spotify.

Update: This version of the app is now live.

Minecraft - Pocket Edition may have one of the slowest development timelines around. Of course, the main reason we accept this almost Valve-ian wait is because every time we do get an update, it brings awesome stuff like friggin' Zombie Pigmen. Oh yeah, and the Nether Reactor that summons them, which is exclusive to the Pocket Edition. Heck yes.

The update also brings a few other new features, like paintings and mushroom farming.
