The early reactions to Motorola's new generation of hardware have been tepid at best. Even so, if you're one of the people looking forward to the recently-announced US launch for the 2016 version of the Moto G and the new G Plus, Motorola is hoping to sweeten the pot on the already budget-priced phones. Both Best Buy and B&H Photos are offering free $50 gift cards to their respective stores for early buyers. Read More
If you've been waiting to get your hands on one of Google's oh-so-special Nest thermostats, but balking at the super-high price, now's your chance to get one at a (slight) discount. The connected home gadget is on sale at major US retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, and Newegg. Customers can pick one up for $199.99, fifty bucks and twenty percent off of the retail price. That's still quite expensive for a thermostat, but not bad for someone hoping to dive into the connected home ecosystem. Read More
At this point Bluetooth speakers are so thick on the ground that you can find them for anywhere between thirty or forty bucks up to several thousand. But any way you slice it, one third off of the retail price is a good deal. That's the discount that Best Buy is offering on the Fugoo Sport XL, a high-end Bluetooth speaker that's equipped with water and dust resistance plus a "shockproof" frame. It's normally three hundred bucks, but Best Buy's deal of the day is offering it for $199.99. Read More
For Xperia fans in the US, getting the phones is not as straightforward as it is for other major brands like Samsung or HTC because you won't be buying them through a carrier. That means interested buyers need to look to electronics retailers. Well, the search is almost over for the newly-released Xperia X series in the US.
It's worth making clear that you can't take these home just yet. Some retailers will allow you to put in a pre-order, others just have placeholder, out of stock listings. Below is the release day pricing along with links to each retailer's listing. Read More
If you've been holding off on Android Wear in anticipation of a good deal, this might be it. The Huawei Watch is on sale again, and some of the discounts on the more spendy versions are as much as $200. The deals are live on the Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy, and more. Read More
In the admittedly limited field of Android Wear devices, the Huawei Watch is the current stand-out. Between the full circular screen, the all-metal build, the built-in heart rate monitor, and a design that has a high factor of watchiness (a technical term meaning "possessing the quality of a conventional watch"), it's received quite the warm welcome among the Android faithful. The Huawei Watch is also one of the most expensive options out there, but today Best Buy is easing a bit of the sticker shock. Read More
The Huawei Nexus 6P is one of the best smartphones you can buy today. It packs a lot of punch and some high-end specs for a price that isn't as extravagant as the new flagships from Samsung, LG, Sony, or HTC. It's also a little more future-proof than them, with an Android N preview already available and the certainty of getting the N and O updates as soon as they are released by Google. Read More
Mother's Day is coming, and Motorola thinks you should give a Moto X Pure to the woman that raised you.
To help out, Motorola is taking $100 off the device. That brings the base model down from an already reasonable $399.99 to a more compelling $299.99. The 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models are all on sale. All you have to do to fulfill your end of the deal is help the company make money by clicking the buy button. Read More
Perhaps the best of the current brood of Android Wear watches, the Huawei watch looks great and performs admirably. It's also quite expensive, so it's always welcome news when it goes on sale. Here's some of that welcome news, the Huawei watch is on sale.
In fact, every color and band option available at Amazon and Best Buy is currently $100 to $150 off (with the exception of the ladies rose gold version, which is $50 off).
There's not really anything else to say on the matter, so I won't hold you from digitally perusing the wares of these two retailers any longer – here are the links. Read More
Say what you will about the latest crop of Android Wear devices, but it would be hard to call any of them "feminine." Even with gold-plated bodies or thin bands, the chunky or boxy nature of the watches mean that they don't easily conform to the current designs of women's conventional watches. (For my money, the most svelte looking Android Wear device right now is the Asus Zenwatch 2.) But Huawei is willing to give it a shot: a few months ago we caught wind of two new variants of the Huawei Watch, the "Jewel" and the "Elegant," and now it appears both of them will soon be available in the US.
