Having rechargeable batteries is nice, but everything comes with its own cable these days. As a result, attempting to charge multiple devices at once can turn the space behind that nightstand into an unmanageable cluster of cables. But more and more devices now support wireless charging, and if you want to add your Galaxy Note 3 to that list, you need to invest in a wireless charging cover. While this extension would normally cost $39.99, today you can get it for just $19.99 from the Samsung store.
We're well into the holiday season here in the US, and I know new electronics aren't the only things many of you have picked up lately. If you have some new pounds you're looking to shave, Best Buy has a deal that may just make doing so a little bit easier - or at least more fun. The Fitbit Flex fitness bracelet is currently on sale for $79.99, a savings of $20 from its usual price.
Want a sweet deal on a Lenovo tablet? Well even if you don't, Best Buy is offering it, so pass this on to someone who does. Best Buy is offering significant discounts on both the unique Yoga Tablet 8 and the more conventional IdeaTab S6000. For today only, the 8-inch Yoga is $199.99 on the online store, a full $50 off. That's even better than the Lenovo perks site.
The Misfit Shine is a very versatile activity tracker, as wearers can use it strapped to their wrists, hanging from around their necks, or attached to their belts. Unfortunately, they haven't yet been able to use it with an Android device. Now that changes. Misfit Wearables has launched a companion app into the Play Store.
The company had promised to release the app in early 2014, but they decided to roll this release out just a bit early.
HP's efforts in the Android tablet space haven't been all that inspiring so far, but they're hoping to change that with the late 2013 line. If you've been waiting on the HP Slate 8 Pro or the Slate 7 Extreme, it looks like Best Buy is the first American retailer to get its hands on the new tablets. You can pick them up for $329.99 and $199.99, respectively.
The Slate 8 Pro is HP's imitation of an iPad Mini.
The Chromecast is already a pretty fantastic deal at $35, but less is always more when it comes to price. Both Best Buy and Amazon are offering the streaming dongle for $29.99. You still get the $6 credit for Google Play movie rentals from either retailer, so you won't be wanting for something to watch when you plug it in.
Google has been pushing the Chromecast hard as of late, adding a special section for Chromecast to the on-device Google Play Store to highlight the apps that can take advantage of it.
Now is a good time to pick up the Galaxy S4, in any color, and on any carrier. Best Buy is promoting an early Doorbuster deal that lets customers get the phone free with a two-year contract, including both new lines and upgrades. Interested buyers can take advantage of the offer at any Best Buy store or online.
While the phone is free, the activation is not. Of course, you will also still be saddled an expensive monthly bill for 24 months.
We've talked about the Fuhu Nabi 2 quite a bit over the last year or so, and it's probably my favorite tablet designed specifically for kids. It's built tough, packed full of useful educational software, and sports enough power to stick with your little one for at least a few years.
Update: It looks like Wal-Mart has 'em beat, because they're letting the Nabi 2 go for $99 November 28th thru December 1st.
A couple of days ago, Amazon and NewEgg slashed the price of the 32GB 2013 Nexus 7 to just $239. What made this odd is that the 16GB variant, which is just nine dollars less, didn't receive any sort of price cut. This of course made the buying choice super easy – the 32GB version was the only way to go. If $239 is still a bit too much to be easily justified, however, the 16 gigger is now only $199.
Many of us have sacrificed point and shoot cameras for the smartphones in our pockets, but it will be a long time before they can compete with the more high-end options out there. So if you want an Android camera that can take truly phenomenal pictures, you may have to sacrifice the phone portion for the time being. Consider turning your attention to Samsung's Galaxy NX, a camera with a 20.3MP sensor, a 4.8-inch touchscreen, and Android 4.2.2.
