If you're looking for yet another place to get your new $35 Chromecast, give your local Best Buy a ring. At least one lucky fellow was able to successfully buy the device from a Best Buy in South Carolina. Calls placed to several stores would indicate that's not the only one. However, most stores are expecting stock to arrive in the next day or two.
Full-size Best Buy stores are getting 20-30 Chromecasts in the first batch – high-traffic stores may get an extra allotment. Read More
The new Nexus 7, which has already been fully revealed and benchmarked earlier today, just popped up on BestBuy.com for pre-order in both 16 and 32 GB capacities. As expected, the refreshed 2013 N7 runs:
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (you can read about some of the new Android 4.3 features here)
- Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro @ 1.5GHz processor with Adreno 320 GPU
- 2GB DDR3 RAM
- 7" 1920x1200 IPS display with antifingerprint and scratch-resistant glass
- 16/32GB internal storage
- 5MP rear and 1.2MP front-facing cameras
- BT 4.0
- Notification LED
- No SD card (did you really expect one?)
- 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi
- Qi wireless charging-compatible
- 3,950 mAh battery (up to 9 hours of active use)
- 7.9" x 4.5" x 0.3"
Wireless charging isn't mentioned, so I'm becoming less and less convinced it's capable of such a feat. Read More
Google can play dumb all it wants – we know a new Nexus 7 is coming, and apparently so does Best Buy. A leaked ad from the electronics retailer shows the new Nexus 7 set to arrive on July 30th for the previously rumored price of $229.99.
After taking Kickstarter by storm, the Pebble smartwatch went on to become a real product. Hey, that's more than you can say for some Kickstarter campaigns. The backers have had their devices for a while now, and the time has come for Pebble to expand. First stop: Best Buy. The Pebble is going to be exclusive to Best Buy, at least for the time being.
You're probably aware, but the Pebble is a slick (kind of) smartwatch with an e-paper display. Read More
Samsung's third iteration of the Galaxy Tab series of tablets isn't exactly mind-blowing, with each entry rocking specs that rival that of the aging Nexus 7. While we're mildly offended that Samsung would stick a 1280x800 resolution on a 10.1-inch screen, that doesn't mean we're going to stop you from buying one if your heart so desires. The 7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inch versions of Sammy's largely identical slates have all popped up for pre-order online and at several big box retailers. Read More
The day has finally come, true believers. The OUYA console is real, it's on sale, and you can have one of three online retailers send one to your doorstep. The $100 gaming SoC-in-a-box got its celebrated start on Kickstarter, but as of today you don't need to be among its backers to buy one. The OUYA storefront, Best Buy, and Target are all allowing orders to go through at the moment - Gamestop and Amazon are also retail partners, but the former isn't allowing you to add the item to your cart, while the latter is showing "out of stock."
All the US and Canadian stores list the OUYA at $99.99, while UK gamers can pick it up for the same price in pounds. Read More
We've only got about a month left before Ouya units start landing in the hands of backers and a few months before the full-blown retail launch. A retail launch that we now learn will include GameStop, Best Buy, Target, Amazon, and an undisclosed number of other sellers. Yes, including brick-and-mortar stores. Things are starting to look pretty good for the little console that could.
Speaking in an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Ouya's CEO released a few extra details, including the price: $100 for the console, which we knew. Read More

Back in early-to-mid December, Fuhu announced a pair of new tablets: the nabi Jr. for small children, and the nabi XD for tweens. While release details were scant for the nabi Jr., the XD was penciled in for a mid-January release date. That time frame has come and gone, but it looks like both device are now available through BestBuy.com, though it's possibly the company pulled the trigger a little bit early since there's been nary a word from Fuhu since the initial announcement. Yesterday, Verizon welcomed the bright pink Motorola DROID RAZR M into the fold just in time for V-Day. Sure, it's essentially the same device as the existing RAZR M, but c'mon – it's pink! That's a pretty niche color, so I'm sure there are lots of Android fangirls out there who just can't wait to get their hands on this little guy. And now, they can do just that for free at Best Buy Mobile – a $50 savings over Verizon's in-store price. Read More
