The Samsung HomeSync hasn't been a huge success, and the astronomical price probably had something to do with that. The device retails for $299.99, and it's only a few bucks cheaper on Amazon right now. Best Buy is undercutting everyone by offering this syncing hub for a mere $99, which actually makes it pretty attractive.
If you want a Chromecast, you probably already have one - that's kind of the point of pricing something in the range of an impulse purchase. The early supply issues have been worked out, new and updated apps with Chromecast support are practically flooding into the Play Store, and Google's tiny streamer has even made its way to Europe. But if you're an American who refuses to pay retail, you'll be glad to know that the Chromecast is once again on sale for $29.99 at both Amazon and Best Buy.
Regular slate tablets are not for you. No sir/ma'am, you demand flexibility and utility from your electronics. Lenovo's Yoga line might be more accommodating for your needs, since it uses a unique chassis that combines a kickstand, an ergonomic handle, a massive battery pack, and a pair of stereo speakers into one bulbous side of the device. Today's Best Buy deal of the day is the 8-inch Yoga Tablet, on sale for $70 off.
The original Galaxy Gear wasn't for everyone (particularly people who don't own a Samsung phone). It also suffered from limited app compatibility and a quirky interface. Its biggest drawback, though, was the price: $299. That's a lot to ask for a smartwatch that only does a handful of things. But what about $99? That's how much Best Buy is currently selling refurbished models of the device for as part of today's deal of the day.
The white Nexus 7 has been available since December, and it's a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, only a 32GB version is currently offered. Sure, that's the bare minimum amount of space I'd want in a tablet these days, but that also means a price point of $269.99. A 16GB option would allow people to pick up a Nexus 7 in white without having to withdraw as much money from the bank.
Update #1: The 16GB Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is scheduled to go live today also, but it doesn't seem to have trickled out to most retailers just yet. Best Buy currently has the smallest tablet in the PRO series available for $399.99 online, but only in white.
Update #2: Alas, here is the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 in black.
Samsung's new Galaxy NotePRO tablets combine massive size with massive price, but that doesn't mean there isn't someone with fat hands and a matching wallet just waiting to give them a go.
Best Buy wants to give you $50, but you're going to have to do something for Best Buy – just buy a phone. If you were planning to do that anyway, then it's a win-win. It's essentially the same deal Best Buy has been offering for the last few years. Just sign up for the promo, and then at any time in 2014 you can use the $50 credit toward a phone of your choice.
One has to wonder: what's the point of a sale on a proverbially cheap item? And the obvious answer is, it's five bucks you wouldn't have otherwise had. So it is with Google's Chromecast streaming HDMI dongle, which has once again gone on sale at both Amazon and Best Buy. You can pick one up for $29.99 at either retailer, with free shipping for Prime members at the former and free shipping for everyone at the latter.
If you want a smart watch but aren't compelled by the Galaxy Gear or enamored with the Pebble, there are other options out there to sate your desire. One of those options is Sony's Smart Watch 2. Best Buy is offering the second iteration of Sony's smart watch effort for $159.99, forty dollars off its normal price from the retailer, and thirty dollars off its price at Amazon.
With a 1.6" transflective LCD display (which, unlike regular LCD displays, actually reflects and transmits light), IP57-certified water resistance, and a design language reminiscent of Sony's Xperia devices, the Smart Watch 2 isn't a bad choice for those looking to try a wrist-mounted wearable.
In a world where almost all tablets are boring black slabs, Lenovo is trying to make some headway with a different design. Now you can experience Lenovo's take on the tablet for $60 less than usual – the Yoga Tablet 8 is on sale for $189.99 at Best Buy today only. That's better than the last such deal.
The Yoga Tablet 8 has a neat little stand that can be used to prop it upright or position it at a comfortable incline.
