Solitaire: Decked Out is a delightfully designed, free, and ad-free take on the solitaire game

You would be hard-pressed to find a game as worn out as Solitaire. It's been the default time-waster of Windows users for decades and the topic of many an assistant and receptionist joke. But there's merit to be had in bringing a fresh coat of paint to a done, redone, and overdone concept. That's where Solitaire: Decked Out shines.

It's another take on Solitaire with the same Klondike rules you've grown to know, a 1 or 3-card draw, some achievements for a little bit of competition, pause and resume, unlimited hints and undos, an offline mode, and both landscape and portrait orientations.

Monument Valley Review: It Only Takes An Hour To Change The World

Monument Valley came to Android a week ago after attracting roughly a million downloads on iOS in the one month since its release. That's no small number, but it doesn't take much time with the game to understand why (a good thing, considering just how little time you're going to spend playing it). Monument Valley has been put together pixel by pixel, with the game offering no more nor less than it needs to provide an absolutely captivating experience.

The Gameplay

Monument Valley is a series of M.C. Escher paintings come to life. Each of the puzzle adventure game's ten stages plop players down on a piece of impossible looking architecture and tasks them with manipulating stairs and walkways so that the silent Princess Ida can navigate to the goal.

Sidescroller Badland Coming To Blow Your Mind On Android 'Soon'

I, like most people, am a great fan of beautiful games. When a game is outstandingly gorgeous and offers great gameplay, I feel that it is my civic duty to spread the word as far as I can. It seems that the time has come once again for me to don my bullhorn and tell you about Badland.

Badland is the type of game you don't see very often. The visuals are off-the-charts gorgeous, the audio meshes perfectly with the imagery, and the gameplay is so simple it's ridiculous. I invite you to watch this video of Badlands. You may want to tape your jaw up because it's going to want to drop:

Yeah, I'll take an order of that.

[Play This] Paper Monsters Brings Gorgeous Environments And Sidescrolling Gameplay To Your Mobile

I absolutely love classic-style sidescrollers. And there aren't enough of them on Android, which is why I was pretty happy to see Paper Monsters show up. Not only does this game offer some killer throwback style gameplay, but some exceptionally nice graphics, too.

The gist is pretty simple: you're a little cardboard guy who has to save the world from all sorts of paper monsters. The controls are insanely simple, yet effective - the virtual d-pad is on the left, and tapping on the right makes you jump. Tap twice to double-jump. And that's all you need. After spending just a few minutes with this game, it reminds me of a cross between Super Mario Brothers Wii and Donkey Kong Country Returns - both amazing games with killer gameplay.

[New App] Audio Glow Brings Highly Customizable, Highly Beautiful Music Visualization To Android

Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of live wallpapers. I love the idea, but in practice I've never found one that suits my taste and is compelling enough to stay on my device for more than a few minutes. That changed today with Cypher Cove's release of Audio Glow to the Play Store.

Audio Glow is actually a stand-alone app with a similarly named LWP companion which also launched today. The app is a music visualizer, which in itself is not so exciting. What makes this app exciting is that it isn't just a music visualizer – it's one that's beautiful, functional, and extremely customizable.
