Aukey Hybrid ANC Wireless Earbuds long-term review: Long in the tooth

It works, but it's a nightmare to use

4
By

You don't need to break the bank for a pair of true wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation. Hell, you probably won't even need a whole Benjamin. Aukey's Beyond ANC Hybrid earbuds, otherwise known as the EP-N5, only cost $59 most days and can be found for way less sometimes. But can your ears live with them? Check out our appended update below.

Camping and cabin seasons are going long and strong and if you have any reason to participate in them without leaving the grid, you'll definitely need a power plant to match your needs. Consider, then, Anker's 500W portable power station, on sale now for 25% off.The PowerHouse II is capable of 500W of typical output and 770W of peak output with a capacity of 777Wh — that's about 5 days of power for a lamp or internet router and 3 hours of power for an 85" TV. It has all the ports: two AC, two DC, two USB-C, four USB-A, and a car socket. It's able to take in charge at up to 120W via dedicated DC or Anderson inputs (if you've got a solar panel with you) as well as the car and USB-C ports.

Review: Aukey's portable generator and solar panel saved me during a power outage

The PowerTitan 300 is a big battery, and the PowerHelio Y100 is a big solar panel, and together they solve big problems

It's a slightly different sort of work day as I sit down to write this review. My power is out, the house is dark, and I'm outside on the deck with my laptop, phone as a hotspot, blogging and Slacking and what have you. But I'm fine, and excluding the distraction of a breeze and the nicer view, I'm still able to get my job done. In fact, the only reason I can is because of the subject of this review: The Aukey PowerTitan 300 and PowerHelio Y100.I know this sounds like the premise for some marketing copy or sponsored content, but it's not. I'm just a blogger who took way too long to get around to reviewing this big battery I got sent in the middle of January. Of course, it was winter, and testing a solar panel in the snow sounded like an awful time to me, so I marked my calendar for an outdoor trip this summer and forgot about the hardware in my closet until the power was scheduled to be out for an entire workday. "That's right," I thought, "I have something for that."

Aukey products disappearing from Amazon amid fake review allegations

Records of the practice surfaced on a freely accessible server earlier

Aukey is among our favorite brands when it comes to affordable and powerful chargers, but some evidence is mounting that legitimate reviews might not be enough for the company. A 7GB data leak on an unsecured Chinese server (spotted by SafetyDetectives) exposed a number of Amazon sellers offering customers free products in exchange for favorable reviews, and it looks like Aukey is one of the companies caught in the middle of this scheme. Amazon has taken action and removed almost all products sold by the company.Looking at Aukey's Amazon page, you'll quickly notice that almost all products it sells have either disappeared or have a "currently unavailable" tag attached to them. The same is true for search. While a few products still show up, with some even available for purchase, you'll mostly only find offers from the competition.

These are the best chargers for your Samsung Galaxy S21 (since it doesn't come with one)

See it as a chance to get the perfect charger for your needs

When Samsung launched its Galaxy S21 series, it was among the first manufacturers to follow in Apple's footsteps — like the Cupertino company, Samsung removed chargers from the box. The manufacturer explained the move was made for environmental reasons, saying that most people already have compatible chargers at home and wouldn't necessarily have to get yet another one. But what if you do want or need a new charger to go with your new Galaxy S21? We've got you covered with a fine selection.First off, keep in mind that there are countless options to choose from, but we don't want to overwhelm you here. That's why we picked a small selection of tried and true products that cover different use cases. We'll also point you to the official chargers Samsung sells because these products are sure to give you the highest possible charging speeds. And if you pre-ordered an S21, you might even be able to pick up one of these for free.

This cheap, you don't even need to worry about tracking them.

I'm not here to kick dirt on the grave of old-school wired headphones. There was plenty to love about them, like affordability, solid sound quality, and a lack of charging. But wires have their own fair share of issues — just ask anyone who's had earbuds yanked out of their ears while passing by a door handle. Switching to Bluetooth headphones keeps things simple, and you don't have to spend a lot of money for a great experience. If you're ready to upgrade, Aukey has four excellent pairs of wireless earbuds on sale today to choose from at Amazon.Three of these models are true wireless earbuds, and they're all great choices with unique designs. All three feature Bluetooth 5, USB-C charging, and water resistance, perfect for casual use or hitting the gym. The EP-T10s are the real highlight here — for only $20, you get seven hours of battery life out of the case and wireless charging. That said, you can't go wrong with any of these sets.If you'd rather keep a wire around your neck to stop yourself from losing each bud, Aukey's EP-B56 earbuds are magnetic and offer up to 10 hours on a single charge. Not bad for just $17. You can check out all four pairs in detail below.

Nothing is more frustrating than misplacing your phone's charger. While you might be able to scrounge around the house to find a replacement, it probably doesn't have all the features you need. Every modern charger should support basics like USB-C and fast-charging, but if the only option you've found is an old Samsung adapter from the Galaxy S5 days, you'll be lucky if your phone finishes charging by the morning. Keeping a spare or two around is a must, and thankfully, you can grab Aukey's Minima USB-C charger for just $8 today at Amazon. With folding prongs and a small cube design, this adapter is perfect for throwing in a backpack. Although there's only a single USB-C port, it still manages to output 20W of power supporting fast charging and Power Delivery. It's not limited to phones and tablets — any PD-compatible device, including the Nintendo Switch, can draw a charge. Whether you're replacing an outdated USB-A plug or just looking for a spare, it's hard to beat this tiny brick.

You can grab Aukey's excellent EP-T31 earbuds for just $26 after discounts and promo codes, marking the lowest price yet on Amazon for this particular pair.Aukey makes plenty of buds in all shapes and sizes, but these are as standard as they come. You'll get about five hours of playback on a single charge, though the case provides up to 30 hours of total listening, along with support for wireless charging. While some Android phones still include headphone jacks in 2021, most of us have moved onto wireless headphones (whether by choice or by force). If you're looking for an extra set to throw in a gym bag, or you've finally given up on the fight for wires, Aukey has a huge selection of wireless earbuds to pick from as part of Amazon's Deal of the Day.

These Aukey true wireless buds are a steal at just $20 ($30 off)

USB-C, wireless charging, and IPX5 water resistance for this price is just insane

If you're on the lookout for a pair of versatile true wireless buds that work well both when exercising, commuting, and working, search no more. Aukey's praised EP-T10 are on sale, down to just $20 instead of their $50 MSRP. There are a lot of options to pick from when it comes to true wireless buds. However, there are almost no decent ones that offer wireless charging, USB-C connectivity, water resistance for just $20. Thankfully, Aukey's EP-T10 come with all of these, as well as an impressive 28-hour playback time thanks to the charging case, which extends the standard seven-hour battery life. The buds are particularly discreet and provide a tight fit that offers good passive noise isolation. They're controlled with touch inputs on the sides, letting you adjust the volume, change tracks, and even access your phone's assistant. If you like to work out, you'll appreciate their IPX5 water resistance, which provides protection from sweat and water sprays, but still won't make them fully waterproof.

Are you an Amazon Prime member? Would you rather carry a smaller wall charger than you are right now? Can't compromise on speed? You should probably grab Aukey's 20W Minima USB-C charger right now for an insanely low price. If one port and 20W is all you need, but you'd really like to cut down on space at the outlet strip or in your backpack, consider that the Minima is 36 x 36 x 30 mm around (not even an inch and a half on any side). It's also USB Power Delivery compliant, meaning that if you don't have an iPhone, you'll still be charging at near its full capacity anyways.

Since Apple released the AirPods, true wireless earbuds have been the trend. The company later continued to innovate, with the introduction of the AirPods Pro that came with active noise cancellation. Other brands such as Sony, Sennheiser, and Jabra have also brought similar products to the market, which are unfortunately quite expensive.Thankfully, Aukey's EP-T27 true-wireless buds offer similar features but cost only a fraction of the price at just $27.50, instead of $50 traditionally. The buds come with a handful of features, including active noise cancellation, IPX7 water-resistance, USB-C charging, and a Qualcomm chip with Bluetooth 5.0, aptX, and AAC. The latter ensures a clear and gapless connection with your phone, making them great to watch videos and play games. The buds have you covered with a playback time of about five hours, which can be extended to an impressive 25 hours with the charging case. Sadly, there is no wireless charging, but that shouldn't be an issue given the battery life, especially at this price point. To benefit from the promotional price, make sure you apply the on-page coupon code (HW45VLZ3) when checking out to receive $22.50 off of the regular price.Buy: Amazon

True wireless buds used to be quite expensive, but their price has recently dropped. Sadly, cheaper models usually lack some features or come with an aging MicroUSB connection, which takes part of the convenience away. Thankfully, Aukey has a pair of true wireless buds that have everything you need and cost just $28, thanks a promo code on Amazon.Being affordable doesn't mean sound quality has been compromised: The EP-T31's 7mm titanium drivers deliver great audio in a compact form factor. The buds also come with a bunch of useful features, such as automatically pausing playback when you take either bud out of your ear and a low-latency mode to sync up the audio with the video on your phone. More importantly, their IPX5 water-resistance makes them sweatproof, which ensures they won't be damaged when you work out.The buds have you covered with a playback time of about fixe hours, which can be extended to an impressive 30 hours with the charging case. The latter can be filled up either using a USB-C cable or wirelessly, making them easy to power up.To benefit from the promotional price, make sure you apply promo code YSBCQRHX when checking out to receive 30% off of the regular price.Buy: Amazon
