Motorola And AT&T Officially Announce The Atrix HD, Available Beginning July 15th For $99 On Contract

While this phone doesn't have many secrets left to reveal, Motorola and AT&T just took what wraps were left off of the Atrix HD. Like recently leaked, the Atrix HD has some pretty modern specs:

4.5" ColorBoost display with Gorilla Glass
1.5GHz dual-core processor
1GB RAM
8MP rear shooter, 2MP front camera
Android 4.0

Like the RAZR and RAZR MAXX, the Atrix HD also comes equipped with a Kevlar backing and "splash guard coating," so you should be able to use it to protect yourself from gunfire and take it swimming (Disclaimer: not really.) Motorola has also thrown its Smartactions app into the device, which is basically a Tasker-like solution, albeit not as powerful.

Ice Cream Sandwich And 'Premium Suite' Now Available Via Kies For The AT&T Galaxy Note

While Samsung may have started pushing the ICS update to international Galaxy Notes back in May, AT&T owners of what is essentially the same device were left wanting. Today, however, that all changes; Samsung has made available Ice Cream Sandwich for the AT&T version of the Note.

Aside from all the added benefits and enhancements of Ice Cream Sandwich, Samsung has also includes its "Premium Suite" of apps designed specifically for the Note. After the update, users will find a few new applications, including S Note, an application that "enhances productivity and professionalizes communications" and My Story, an app that allows users to create customized greeting cards and notes.

AT&T Galaxy SII Skyrocket's Official Ice Cream Sandwich Update Rolling Out Now Via Kies

Months after AT&T's Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket got a leaked build of Ice Cream Sandwich, it looks like the device is finally getting an official update. Users at XDA began reporting the update earlier today, indicating that it is available over Kies. Unlike March's leaked build, the official update brings users to Android 4.0.4, rather than 4.0.3, and (of course) carries a different build number. Here's a snippet from the update's build.prop:

Of course, rooted users would be advised to wait for a pre-rooted build of the update. Everyone else needs only to fire up Kies, look for build i727UCLF6, and grab the update.

AT&T Launches Its LTE Network In Six New Markets, Expands In Two Others

While AT&T's LTE network may not be nearly as expansive as Verizon's, the company is still making good progress on broadening its other 4G reach. It announced today news of yet another expansion, this time bringing its brand of 4G LTE to six new markets:

This list may seem relatively short compared to some of Verizon's more recent rollouts, but it's clear that AT&T is gunning for Verizon's LTE customers by launching in such large areas.

AT&T Announces The Galaxy S III Will Arrive In Stores On July 6th, Still No Word On That Sexy Red Device

The wait is nearly over for the Galaxy S III if you're on AT&T. The big blue ball has just announced that Samsung's newest flagship will be available for same-day purchases starting July 6th in all of its stores nationwide. The company isn't sharing specifics on whether that will include only the blue and white versions of the phone, or if we'll also see AT&T's exclusive red version of the device. If we had to bet on it, we'd say the red version will still be a little way's off.

The device will also be available for overnight shipping on July 6th, so if you're keen to order online, you'll be covered as well.

The Galaxy S III Is Officially Available In The U.S. On T-Mobile In Some Areas, Other Carriers To Follow

It was less than two months ago that the Galaxy S III was first announced to the world at Samsung's super classy special event. Now, the device is available inside the US borders. Though, there are a few catches. For starters, the device is only available on T-Mobile so far, according to a press release from Samsung. You can order it online, or from "select retail stores." This is in line with T-Mobile's previous statements where the company announced it would be splitting the launch in twain.

The other carriers' availability is a little murky. According to Samsung's official press release, the device will become available "in-store and online within the next several weeks." It's unclear when any of the carriers will have the device available in stores.

The Galaxy S III is a big deal. It's kind of hard to overstate it. Samsung is the biggest, baddest Android manufacturer out there, and this is their new flagship device for the next year.

Samsung is taking advantage of their newfound clout in the Android ecosystem: it's the first Android phone to escape the cellular carriers' meddling changes. Sammy managed to pulled off a unified launch across all the major US carriers - there will be no weird variants, and no names that sound like Street Fighter II sequels. It's just the "Galaxy S III." They are all the same, and you can get one on whatever carrier you want.

Samsung Posts ICS Open Source Files For AT&T And T-Mobile Galaxy SIII (SGH-I747M And SGH-T999V)

Just over two weeks after the official Galaxy SIII announcement, and days before its target launch date, Samsung has released the ICS open source files for AT&T's own Galaxy SIII (otherwise known as SGH-I747M), as well as T-Mobiles variant - the SGH-T999V. These releases are in keeping with Samsung's recent pattern of timely source code drops, which has certainly been encouraging for developers looking to tinker with one of the hottest Android devices available.

As we count down the final days before the SIII's imminent stateside release, those interested in getting their hands on the source can grab the SGH-I747M's source here and the SGH-T999V's source here.

[Deal Alert] Galaxy S III On AT&T Pre-Orders For $150; Sprint Version For $180

While the Galaxy S III pre-order frenzy started early last week, we've yet to see the device going for anything less than retail price. Now, however, Amazon Wireless and Target Mobile both have the AT&T variant for $150 with an updgrade. Normally we see the best deals reserved for folks looking to sign a new contract, so this is definitely the exception to that rule.

Wirefly has also joined the game and started accepting pre-order for the Sprint variant of the device, albeit for the slightly higher price of $180 for both new contracts and upgrades.

LG Confirms In Bluetooth SIG That Quad-Core Krait E970 / LS970 Headed To North America This Fall

In a Bluetooth SIG listing (a trade certification group), LG has officially confirmed the existence of the E970 and LS970. The former is possibly headed for AT&T (it has AT&T GSM and LTE bands - which could mean Rogers as well) and is packing a quad-core Qualcomm S4 Krait chip, complete with the latest Adreno 320 GPU goes toe-for-toe with the Galaxy SIII in GLBencmark. The 1280x768 resolution is something of an oddity - why the extra 48 pixels? A 13MP rear camera and 2GB of RAM round of this beefy device's specs. It's actually quite similar to the upcoming Optimus LTE2, so we could be seeing a carrier-specific iteration of that hardware here.
