Phones are always begging for attention – emails, text messages, app updates, and so on. Ideally, you might like to see what's going on in your devices without picking it up while hard at work. Krome for Android does just that with the aid of a desktop Chrome extension.

The Google Play Store got its big overhaul this week, and it looks pretty nice. The lost features are a bit of a problem, but maybe a bunch of app sales will cheer you up. There are a ton of them today, including some stuff from Amazon.

Reddit is Fun is the workhorse of Android Reddit clients. It's minimalist and snappy – no time for fancy animations and effects, there is Redditing to be done. The app has a ton of features, and it just got some more with a big update to version 3.0.

Love it or hate it, version 7 of Google Maps is now apparently rolling out to everyone. The latest release is entirely different from prior versions and gives the mobile app a look that matches that of the new Google Maps soon to hit the web. Upon opening the app for the first time, a solitary search bar hovers at the top of the screen while all other options are tucked away.

A new version of Chrome has hit the beta channel, and that means it's on Android in the Chrome beta app. Most updates these days are staged rollouts, but I'm already seeing version 29 on all my devices. No promises, though.

Version 29 of Chrome adds support for WebRTC, a real-time communication API based on JavaScript. This will enable web-based voice calling, video chat, and file sharing without installing any additional software.

If you're wondering if the new Play Store is acting a little weird for everyone or just you – it's everyone. A large number of developer pages are missing apps all their apps. They're just empty wastelands of calming gray.

Not all pages are affected, but some big developers are included in the problems. Rovio Stars, Netflix, Dropbox, the NBA, Sony Online, Wacom, Tesla Motors, and YouTube are among those with blank developer pages.

After giving us a sneak peek back at I/O in May, Google has finally rolled out the new version of web Play Store. The new UI looks totally killer, but there's a big shakeup in the features to go along with that new interface, and not all of it is good news. After the Maps update fiasco, it's starting to look like Google is pulling features it doesn't feel are being used by enough people.
