Google's official Google Now Launcher is pretty cool, but it's lacking the settings you'd find in Nova and other third-party launchers. There's a way to fix that if you're rooted with Xposed, though. Xposed GEL Settings (or XGELS to its friends) is an app that adds features to GNL so you can have the best of both worlds. This app just hit v2.0 and it's packing some new goodies.

Comcast is finally acknowledging Android Wear's existence with an update to its Xfinity X1 Remote app in the Play Store. It now includes voice and touch controls on your watch that can be used to change channels, start recordings, and more. It cannot be used to navigate the labyrinthian nightmare that is the Comcast support line.

The last few SwiftKey updates have been focused on making the keyboard faster and more responsive, which has been sorely needed for some time. However, you'll only get the full effect if you're in a supported country, which for once is not the US.

Wearable Widgets rolled out support for Android Wear pretty quickly after the first devices hit the streets, and now there's another big update to the app. In addition to mirroring widgets from the phone, the new version can set any widget as your watch face. There are a few drawbacks, but it's a neat option.
