Who's that guy? You know the one. He was in that thing... umm, the thing? Better just whip out the IMDB app and make use of it's slick new interface to figure it out. Yes, v4.2 is out of beta so everyone can enjoy the updated look and feel. This app finally feels like a part of Android.

For an app people use so heavily, the official Instagram app for Android has been a bit of a UI disaster since it launched back in 2012. It's about to be much better today with the release of version 5.1. The design is cleaner and flatter with a bit of an Android vibe. It's not super-holo, but it's a start.

In short, Yatse got bumped to version 4.0, which brings a handful of new features to the already-powerful application, like Chromecast support, Muzei integration, a newly designed interface, improved speed and stability, an internal audio player, and offline media support.

MyScript Calculator is essentially the magical oracle of mathematics many of us always wished we had in school. If you're still in school, well, you're probably using the hell out of this app. Either way, good news – MyScript Calculator just got an update with a ton of new stuff.

Say what you will about the official Twitter client, at least they're trying. The UI is still a little odd, but the beta is showing signs of improvement. For example, a recent update added support for immersive mode on KitKat devices.

When the name of that song playing in the background escapes you, Shazam is the most common way to figure it out. This app has a few hundred million installs on Google Play – no big deal, or anything. A recent update has brought the updated experience that was teased at MWC to the Android app, so get your updates started.

Koush's AllCast app does a good job of streaming media to all manner of set top boxes, and of course the Chromecast. However, it hasn't always looked awesome doing it. Well, now it does – the new update comes with a refreshed UI and adds Muzei support for good measure.

AllCast now has a much improved slide out navigation menu and tabbed browsing of media. The color scheme is nice too.

Cal comes from the makers of Any.do, and it's got the same level of polish and functionality users of that app expect. Cal is getting a nice update today that adds a new feature called HeadsUp. This is actually a collection of features that are designed to make meetings more convenient.
