The newest update to Rovio Mobile's movie inspired version of Angry Birds hit the official Android Market this morning. The game was originally exclusive to the Amazon App Store, so naturally, it was the first to see the update.
The update brings 30 new levels as well as "hidden bonuses and juicy secrets" to the birdy-centric game, according to the official changelog. If you haven't already seen it, here's a video that shows the action:
As promised, from today the AT&T online store is offering the Samsung Infuse 4G for $199.99 with a 2-year contract. The contract requires you to additionally purchase a minimum data service which starts at $15/month. Alternatively, you can pick up the 4G device for $549.99 sans-contract. Oh and there is also free shipping.
Dubbed the "nation's thinnest 4G smartphone", this 8.99mm Android 2.2 device features a gigantic 4.5" Super AMOLED Plus display (it really does look enormous on such a thin profile), a 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor, an 8MP rear camera with 720p video capture, a 1.3MP front camera, and Samsung's proprietary Touchwiz UI.
If you've beaten all 456930 levels of all 3 flavors of Angry Birds and can't wait for 30 more that Rovio teased us with, take a deep breath and go in for the kill - the update to Rio just went live in the Amazon Market.
Beach Volley, the 3rd Rio stage, following the Smugglers' Den and Jungle Escape, brings 30 more levels full of birds (including Blu and Jewel tied at the feet), monkeys, and you guessed it - beach balls.
If you've had an Android phone for more than, say, 6 minutes, then there's a good chance that you have Angry Birds installed. Actually, there's a good chance that you all all three versions of Angry Birds installed - the original, Seasons, and the newest of the three: Rio (based on the movie of the same name).
The latter has an update coming next week, dubbed Beach Volley, that will bring about several new levels, but this time the setting is a beach, and you won't be killing pigs or freeing birds.
Yesterday we showed you the trailer for Angry Birds Seasons: Easter Eggs, noting that the expected update should hit the Market some time this week. I guess for Rovio Mobile, "some time this week" translates to "first thing Monday morning" - it's available for download now.
The update adds 15 new levels, as well as 3 bonus levels and tons of Easter Eggs, so head over to the Android Market and grab it.
We've known about the upcoming "Easter Eggs" update to Angry Birds Seasons for some time now, but this short trailer gives us a quick glimpse into some of the 15 new levels that we can expect to see some time next week. You won't find any gameplay changes, but more levels to the classic Angry Birds formula are never a bad thing, right?
You know what I hate? Having to start over from the beginning of Angry Birds every time I flash a new ROM. I won't have to deal with that for much longer, though - according to the official Twitter page of Rovio Mobile, they're working on the greatest thing to happen to Angry Birds since the slingshot. One of the most popular Android games, Angry Birds Seasons, by everyone's favorite developer Rovio Mobile went on a 1-day sale today as the free premium app of the day over at the Amazon Appstore. The only difference between the already-free version of the same name and this one is the absence of those annoying ads that pop up in the most ridiculous locations at the most inopportune times.
The success that the Angry Birds games have brought to Rovio is stunning, really: the company was reportedly on the verge of bankruptcy when it released the game, and today, revenue is estimated to be between $50 and 70 million annually. It's perhaps no surprise, then, that the company raised $42 million in funding earlier this month, and they enjoyed the luxury of picking and choosing their investors. They even reportedly determined the terms of investment - quite the reversal of roles.
