Google puts up "be together not the same" billboard for Pride with lots of colorful Nova Launcher screens

New York City's Pride March is scheduled to take place this Sunday the 26th, and Google is all ready to join in. Android's "be together not the same" slogan champions acceptance and celebrates difference, something that falls in line with the message of Pride. And with the Orlando shooting's black cloud looming over everyone, it's nice to see Google already excited and ready to grab its rainbow flag and stand proud.

At the corner of Christopher Street and 7th Avenue in NYC, there are two new billboards for Android filled to the brim with more than 80 different homescreen setups — some, if not all, of which have been made with Nova Launcher (which happens to be on sale now, happy coincidence!).

President Obama ditched his Blackberry for a Galaxy S4 (probably)

Yep, you read that right. In a Late Night with Jimmy Fallon appearance a couple of days back, President Obama mentioned he no longer used his DISA/DOD-approved Blackberry, but a new Android smartphone instead. According to Ars Technica, that device is very likely a hardened Samsung Galaxy S4.

The S4 is currently the only device supported under DISA's DOD Mobility Classified Capability-Secret (DMCC-S) program. In 2014, a number of Samsung devices were the first to win approval from the National Security Agency under its National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) program—largely because of Samsung's KNOX security technology.

Google Says Marshmallow Memory Leak Is Fixed In A 'Future Release'

You don't have to look far on the internet to find someone complaining about a memory leak in Android. There is, of course, the infamous Lollipop memory leak that was fixed in Android 5.1, but Google just crossed another big one off the list. According to the Android issue tracker, Marshmallow system memory leak issue 195104 has been closed with a status of "future release." That probably means Android N or a monthly patch.

AOSP Changelog Posted For Android N Developer Preview 3 And June's Android 6.0.1 Security Updates

June's security updates are now available for all of the currently supported Nexus (and Pixel C) devices. As usual, the code changes to go along with this month's new firmware have been uploaded to AOSP and we've got some changelogs to look through. While it's a bit late, Google also uploaded the code changes for N Developer Preview 3. As usual, this isn't a complete release of N, but mostly just the code for projects licensed under the GPL.

Google has already posted the security bulletin, which describes the lion's share of changes. Most of the issues resolved in this version have to do with vulnerabilities in Qualcomm drivers.
