Epson Begins Shipping The Moverio BT-100, A See-Through Wearable Display Powered By Android

Epson announced today that the Moverio BT-100, the first Android-powered see-through wearable display, is now available from the Epson store.

While Epson's Moverio glasses aren't exactly the fabled augmented reality spectacles Google is said to be working on, they are at least an interesting entry into the wearable display market, utilizing a wired, Froyo-powered track pad controller and micro-projection technology to put a perceived 80" display over whatever you're looking at. The interesting thing is that the virtual display is ever so slightly translucent, meaning it won't totally block your vision.

The glasses also support side-by-side 3D imaging, have Wi-Fi connectivity, and a microSD slot preloaded with a 4GB card, expandable all the way to 32GB.

[Review] Temple Run (The Real One!) Finally Makes It To Android, Was Definitely Worth The Wait

After countless bad copies, the official Temple Run game has finally hit the Google Play store! Like the iOS version, it's available for free and contains no adverts anywhere in the game. You can, however, make in-app purchases of coins to help you buy various items from the store as you progress. We'll cover that in a bit more detail later on, but for now, let's jump right in to the review!

Gameplay

When you load Temple Run for the first time, you're thrown straight into a game with a few pointers that allow you to get to grips with the controls and the aims of the game.

First Alpha Build Of Utter! Released With Limited Functionality, Goes By The Name Of (N)utter, Still Reads Your Mind

About a month and a half ago, we posted about a highly impressive voice control app named "Utter!". Siri competitors are a dime a dozen nowadays, but Utter! is a lot more HAL than Siri:

Want a add a calendar appointment? Tell Utter, and it'll take care of it. Get travel details, find out the weather, and launch applications - all child's play for Utter, and all done using native applications instead of just simple searches.

Actually, that's just scratching the surface for Utter - if you watch the entire 22 minute video, you'll see the developer, brandall of XDA, use Utter to set his CPU governor (yes, it asks for superuser permissions), reboot into the bootloader, and even have a conversation.

[Updated] The Real Temple Run Finally Comes To Android - Download It Now

After countless fakes, the real Temple Run is finally here. That's right - it is legit and available right on schedule, March 27th (looks like it happened Eastern time).

Even better news - it's free. Presumably, there are in-app purchases or ads, but we'll figure that out once we give it a go.

Update: No ads so far, but you can purchase coins for $0.99 or more (see the last screenshot below).

In the meantime, why don't you do that as well? I'll see you back here in a few hours. Or days. I won't judge.

Just remember to register for Google I/O in the morning, if you're thinking of going - don't forget, registration starts 7 a.m.

A few days ago, a popular reddit post (heads up, NSFW language) drew attention to the fact that the Play Store looks like an absolute mess these days. And it's true - just about everyone on the team agreed with the statement. Liam (our resident designer) agreed so strongly he even went ahead and wrote a post about it, and even went a step further and by creating some renders of how he'd do things. Take a look at the current Play UI (top) and Liam's proposal (bottom):
