You might remember ASUS as the company that manufactured the overwhelmingly popular Nexus 7 tablet. Did you know that ASUS makes other tablets as well? It's true! Among them are the Transformer Pad, Transformer Pad Prime, and Transformer Pad Infinity. If you happen to own one of these tablets, then ASUS would like you to know that your slate is "scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months." Nice, huh?

Good news for Nexus S owners – your OTA update to 4.1.1 Jelly Bean is ready and at least one user has reported it rolling out to his i9023 already.
The 114MB update, which brings the Nexus S' build up to JRO03E, is also available to download directly from Google's server for users with either the i9023 or i9020T hardware variants. For those wondering, this update shouldn't wipe data during installation.

Since you're reading Android Police, we know you've already got all your Android news covered. But hey, we know there are other gadgets out there! For that, the Verge is a pretty great source of information. For the (very few) uninitiated, the Verge is a gadget blog founded by former Editor-in-Chief of Engadget Joshua Topolsky. For broad gadget news of the industry at large, there are few publications that are better.
The app looks pretty great on a phone, though the tablet layout is non-existent. The app even locks to portrait mode, which isn't a big deal for all you new and future Nexus 7 owners, but for virtually every other Android tablet in existence, it's a little annoying.
Earlier this week, we mentioned that the amazing folks behind the XBMC project are bringing the app to Android. Well, it's still very early, but would you like to see what it's gonna be like? Of course you do. If you've got a Nexus Q or an Android-compatible set top box, you can download the apk from our mirrors below. The interface is still very much centered around arrow keys/a d-pad. Touch input does work, but text is very small on a phone and not much better on a tablet.
Need some reading for the weekend? Google has you covered. To celebrate the shipping of the first batch of Nexus 7 pre-orders, Google has posted up the full, official, exhaustive changelog for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Covering everything from Accessibility to Widgets, the changelog delivers comprehensive explanations of each and every change users can expect to find in Android's latest iteration, as well as changes to Google apps and the "new Google experience on Android," including Google Search and Google Now.
While the raw changelog may not be quite as compelling (or nearly as visually rich) as Ron's Getting To Know Android series (which has three parts so far: part 1, 2, 3), it's still a great read for those wanting to explore each and every detail of Jelly Bean.
We've seen some pretty cool projects show up on Kickstarter: Capta, Pebble, Chameleon, Vavo... and plenty more. Last night, though, one of the coolest projects I've ever seen made its way to the crowd-funded site: OUYA. You may or may not already be familiar with that name, so a little explanation may be in order.
First off, OUYA is an open source, Android-powered video game console. That in itself got my attention, but if you really want to see how awesome OUYA is, watch this:

This project makes perfect sense to me; with the increase in quality games (and more specifically, games designed for the Tegra 3 chipset), something like this is absolutely brilliant.
