[Weekend Poll] A Lighter (White) Theme In Android 4.4 KitKat, Hot Or Not?

Colors. People have opinions about them. Some people really like blue. Some like green. How about white, though? Because that's the new shade that by all accounts will grace the notification bar icons in the next version of Android, version 4.4, aka KitKat. Here they are:

Love at first sight, or a white-out that you would prefer get out? I personally thought Tron blue always was a bit too nerdy, and Android green a little too bold. But hey, they're just status bar icons, right? Who cares?

Well, when something like the status bar icons get a bleach, it's definitely a little prophetic; very likely, we'll see other parts of Android pick up on that trend, too.

Google Announces Android 4.4 KitKat Along With Nexus 7 Giveaway

As soon as Android head Sundar Pichai tweeted the image of a KitKat-themed Android statue on the lawn at Google, it was on. The official KitKat twitter account got in on the fun, and the Android KitKat website went live with a confirmation that it was indeed going to be Android KitKat. What's more, this is not Android 5.0. This is 4.4.

The Android KitKat site has a neat little retrospective of the entire Android version history and a bit of info about a contest. Special Android-branded KitKat packaging is heading to stores, and you could win a Nexus 7 or Google Play credit by checking the wrapper.
