US Cellular Updates Its Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini And Galaxy Mega Phones To 4.4.2

All the talk about Android L this week overshadows the unfortunate fact that the previous release is still on less than 15% of Android devices. This weekend US Cellular is helping in a small way, releasing KitKat to two of its Samsung phones. The US Cellular versions of the Galaxy S4 Mini and the Galaxy Mega (6.3) are both being updated to KitKat, so those with the applicable hardware should keep an eye out for the over-the-air alert.

Samsung And AT&T Resume Rollout Of Android 4.4.2 For The Galaxy S4 Active After 6 Week Hiatus

Back in April, owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active were treated to the ultimate tease when an update to Android 4.4 KitKat began rolling out, only to be put on hold a few days later. Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE Edition (SM-P605) Now Getting KitKat, Currently Hitting Nordic Countries

Samsung has been dabbling around with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 LTE Edition's KitKat update for a while now, first rolling out the update to the Wi-Fi only version of the tablet several weeks ago. Now SamMobile reports that the LTE Edition, SM-P605, is getting its taste of Android 4.4 now in select countries. T-Mobile Announces LG G Flex KitKat OTA Software Update Going Out Starting Today

People who bought the un-flattened LG G Flex on the un-carrier T-Mobile should be on the lookout for a chocolate dose of new features. The carrier has announced a software update is hitting devices starting today, bumping them up to Android 4.4 and software version D95920d.

On the G Flex's update support page, T-Mobile lists the update as Android 4.4.3. Considering that the Sprint G Flex just received Android 4.4.2 a week ago, this is probably a typo.

Sprint's Version Of The Samsung Galaxy S III Gets Its KitKat 4.4 Update

The Galaxy S5 runs Android 4.4 out of the box, and most of the US and international versions of the Galaxy S4 have been given the KitKat update as well, but millions of owners of the Samsung Galaxy S III from 2012 are still sitting on an outdated version of Android. Sprint seems to be the first US carrier to alleviate that: this support page says the update for the S III is going out starting today.

International Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) Finally Starts Receiving Update To Android 4.4

KitKat has started to come to the international variant of the Galaxy Note II. As SamMobile has reported, the update is currently available to users in France. It's an official build available through Kies, with no word yet on when an OTA is scheduled to go out. When it does, it should hit other regions as well. The update bumps the software version up to N7100XXUFND3.
