Samsung Announces That Jelly Bean Is Coming To 15 More Devices "Soon," Including The 'Galaxy Music'

Following the initial rollout of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) to Galaxy S III phones in Poland this morning, Samsung has announced that the update will be coming to 15 more devices in other markets "soon."

This latest software update will bring Google Now to a wide range of models and see the frame rate of the entire OS increased thanks to Project Butter.

The devices due to be updated to Jelly Bean are:

Galaxy S II
Galaxy Note
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

Although a device called the Galaxy Music is listed here, we aren't entirely sure what it is just yet.

Official Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Update Reportedly Rolling Out In Europe, Starting With Poland

One of the most anticipated OS upgrades in recent Android history has reportedly begun in Europe (specifically, Poland) where official Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean firmware was discovered via Kies a couple of hours ago. Since no carrier marking was attached to the announcement by SamMobile's tracker, it looks like the update applies to the unlocked, unbranded variant localized to Poland - specifically, GT-I9300MBDXEO. Google Now and the updated Google Search, offline speech recognition, Project Butter, expandable notifications - it's all there.

Earlier this month, Samsung promised that the international S III units would start seeing Android 4.1 as soon as October, so it appears the company is actually ahead of schedule.

Confirmed: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Receiving Jelly Bean Update Today, September 6th

As was reported yesterday, it looks like the Sprint Galaxy Nexus will, in fact, be receiving its upgrade to Jelly Bean. Finally. According to documents on Sprint's support page, the JRO03R build starts rolling out today. It looks like it will be an OTA update. If you want to compulsively check for it, though, you can do so in Settings.

We're still waiting to see if the Nexus S 4G will also get the promised Jelly Bean update, as we'd also heard. Until then, though, Galaxy Nexus owners, if you receive an OTA update, let us know. The release date heavily implies that it should be rolling out now, but, like you, we won't be satisfied until it's in users hands.

Evernote App Updated To Version 4.2, Brings Jelly Bean Notification Enhancements

If you've ever needed to jot down a quick note on the go, I hope you used Evernote to do it. The Evernote service, and the accompanying app, make it easy to keep all your notes in the cloud. This app has long had great features like audio notes, notebook categorization, and tagging. Now Evernote is getting a little more awesome for anyone running Jelly Bean.

Android 4.1 supports expanded notifications so you can trigger actions right from the drop down. In the case of Evernote, you can share or edit a note by tapping the corresponding buttons.

[Download] Jelly Bean Test Build (JRO03O) Available For The Verizon Galaxy Nexus

While the GSM Galaxy Nexus has been running Jelly Bean since Google I/O, there hasn't been a single word of the update for the Verizon Nexus. Until now.

Last night, one lucky XDA member received a system update on his phone to install build JRO03O, which is the newest Jelly Bean build we've heard of.

It's pretty evident that this is just a test build, as there's nary a word about the update anywhere else; even Verizon's support channel is void of any info. What this does indicate, however, is that Big Red is testing the update, so we'll hopefully see a final OTA shortly.

ASUS Transformer Pad 300's Full Jelly Bean Firmware For WW (Worldwide) And TW Versions Now Available For Download

A bit less than two weeks ago, the TF300 became the first non-Nexus ASUS tablet to receive an update to Jelly Bean, starting with the U.S. Several days later, ASUS posted the full Jelly Bean ROM v10.4.2.9, though only for U.S. variants, and almost immediately started the OTA rollout in Europe.

If you have one of these TF300s with a WW (worldwide) or TW (Taiwan) SKU and haven't gotten the OTA yet (or messed something up and want to restore), the full ROMs are now downloadable from the TF300 support page (select Download -> Android):

[Update: Newer Firmware] Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Firmware Leaks With New Notification Bar And Google Now, Available To Download Now

We saw a video yesterday of a Samsung Galaxy S III running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with a revamped notification bar and access to Google Now. Fast forward 24 hours, and you can now get hold of that firmware yourself to try it out on your very own Galaxy S III.

Update: A newer firmware I9300XXBLH4 got leaked over at XDA by Samsung-Updates.com. It's an OTA (meaning incremental update) that applies directly on top of I9300XXBLG8/I9300OXABLG8/I9300XXLH1.

The folks at SamMobile have managed to get hold of the image, which is a slightly different build to the one shown in the video yesterday.

Leaked Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Build Pops Up On Video, Shows Off Revamped Notification Bar

In something of a surprise, it appears Samsung has already been hard at work on preparing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III, as evidence by this YouTube video posted by AndroidMX. The build is labeled as i9300XADLG4. It's definitely looking legit, and while the visual changes to the Galaxy S III in Jelly Bean seem minor, there's no doubt that many owners of the device are absolutely chomping at the bit for access to Google Now in its full, un-ported glory. First, the video (warning: it's long and highly repetitive):

One thing you may notice is the revamped notification bar, which incorporates some of the new actions found in Jelly Bean like the instant sharing option for screenshots.

Android Platform Distribution Updated: ICS Up To Almost 16%, Jelly Bean 0.8%

Google has again updated the current platform version numbers, and they show a reasonably good uptick in the usage of Android 4.0 variants. However, Google's new baby, Jelly Bean, is still bumping along at less than 1% even with all those Nexus 7 tablets.

Last time Android 4.0 was almost 11%, so those new devices and updates are definitely helping. Gingerbread was, and still is the majority of devices, but it's dropped a few points from roughly 64% to a touch over 60% now. As a reminder, Gingerbread is 20 months old now, and there's really no reason for it to still be so prevalent when ICS has had over half a year to build.

[No Surprises] HTC Confirms Jelly Bean For The One X, One XL, And One S

Whenever a new version of Android is announced, everyone is curious whether or not their device will end up getting the update. While it's usually assumed that the latest flagship devices will receive this sort of update, HTC has issued a statement removing all doubt:
