Official Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Updates Continue Rolling Out Across Europe - Now In France, Spain, Romania, And Austria

The floodgates seem be open, folks - the Jelly Bean updates for the Galaxy S III are now rolling out all over Europe. Last month, Samsung shared Android 4.1.1 with Polish users, took a break to fix some bugs, and restarted the process two days ago in Sweden. As of today, the list of countries has expanded quite a bit - France, Spain, Romania, and Austria. All signs point to a much wider rollout, and I wouldn't be surprised if even more territories and carriers show up within the next 48 hours.

Official Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Update Pops Up Again, This Time In Sweden

The European Galaxy S III Jelly Bean update first turned up in Poland about three weeks ago. At the time, we were hoping it was a good indication that the rest of Europe would follow soon after, but that's about the last we've heard of it until today. In the meantime, Samsung did fire up the update in Korea and reiterated it would soon show up in the States.

Official Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Update Reportedly Rolling Out In Europe, Starting With Poland

One of the most anticipated OS upgrades in recent Android history has reportedly begun in Europe (specifically, Poland) where official Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean firmware was discovered via Kies a couple of hours ago. Since no carrier marking was attached to the announcement by SamMobile's tracker, it looks like the update applies to the unlocked, unbranded variant localized to Poland - specifically, GT-I9300MBDXEO. Google Now and the updated Google Search, offline speech recognition, Project Butter, expandable notifications - it's all there.

A new update for Asus' middle-range Android tablet is rolling out at this very moment. Users on XDA are reporting getting the update notification, but it appears to be a little fickle with rooted devices. The abbreviated changelog claims this is a simple stability enhancement.

Update: This build is now available as a full ROM over at ASUS' TF300 Downloads.

ASUS Now Pushing Jelly Bean (4.1.1) To The Transformer Pad 300 In North America

Yesterday, ASUS North America teased some Jelly Bean goodies on its Facebook page. At the time, we had no idea they would begin pushing a Jelly Bean update less than 12 hour later. But they have.

Announced on its Facebook this morning, ASUS has started pushing the Jelly Bean update (Android 4.1.1) to the Transformer Pad 300, making it the first 10" ASUS tablet to receive the update. The TF300 getting updated to Jelly Bean isn't much of a shocker, but the fact hat ASUS was able to perform such a quick turnaround and get the update out is nothing short of impressive.

Jelly Bean Factory Images Are Now Available For Several Nexus Devices, Including GSM Galaxy Nexii And Nexus 7

The time has come friends. Factory images are now available for several Nexus devices. The current factory image (JRO03[C-E] depending on the device) is available for most Nexus S variants, though the Korean and Sprint versions are conspicuously absent. Similarly, the Verizon-branded Galaxy Nexus is still off the list, but all other Galaxy Nexus versions are accounted for. And, of course, the carrier-less Nexus 7's factory image is available.

For those who prefer bullet points, here are the devices with factory images available as well as the build number for each:

  • Nexus S (soju): Android 4.1.1 (JRO03E)
  • Nexus S (sojua): Android 4.1.1 (JRO03E)
  • Galaxy Nexus (yakju): Android 4.1.1 (JRO03C)
  • Galaxy Nexus (takju): Android 4.1.1 (JRO03C)
  • Nexus 7 (nakasi): Android 4.1.1 (JRO03D)

If you need to get back to the way things were when you first got your device, you can download the images from Google's download site right here.

OTA Update JRO03C Pushing To Nexus 7 Now, Brings Android 4.1.1, Speeds Up A Few Things, Squashes Bugs

Our I/O Nexus 7s just received update notifications that a new software build is available for download - this is very likely the final retail build users will see when they receive their devices.

While a "changelog" of sorts pops up with the update notification, it's stock dialogue from a full-on Jelly Bean upgrade, not something specific to this particular update for the Nexus 7. More than likely, this OTA just irons out some bugs and turns off some unnecessary data logging and pre-release testing tweaks.
