BGR just got a hold of the official Verizon spec sheet for the upcoming HTC Incredible and it looks pretty good.

Here are some highlights:

802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi - I believe this is the first handset to feature 802.11n
8MP camera with autofocus
8GB internal storage
512MB ROM and 512MB RAM
3.7" WVGA 480x800 px OLED touch screen

Android 2.1
CDMA obviously - it's Verizon

The rest is pretty much expected of any phone nowadays.

April 29th is the rumored launch date for this handset.

BREAKING: Samsung Moment Leaked Android 2.1 Update Rooted Only A Few Hours Later - Available Now

Only a few hours since we broke the news about a leaked Samsung Moment Android 2.1, another member of the same forum by the name of joeykrim that posted the original ROM announced that they have successfully rooted it.

Yes, that's right, Samsung Moment with Android 2.1 is now rooted.

This gets us root, but it isn't the prettiest method.

Samsung Moment Android 2.1 ROM Leaked, Available For Download

We just got word that the long awaited Samsung Moment 2.1 update ROM was leaked and is available for your flashing pleasures. Android Police seems to be the first Android blog to break the news.

Head over to this SDX-Developers.com forum post to download it. Here is the ROM download link, in case the forum goes down.

SDX forum members have tested the ROM out and found it working, with the exception of some of them not being able to log into the Market. A phone reset reportedly fixes this problem. Of course, proceed at your own risk.

The leaked ROM comes after Sprint earlier this week reportedly began internal testing of Android 2.1 on the Moment by releasing it to some of its employees.

Samsung Moment Android 2.1 Pictures Surface - Insider Says Update Likely This Week

A few days ago on April 2nd, a forum poster by the name of KansasCityJoe turned up at AndroidCentral.com forums out of nowhere and suggested he had a pre-release version of Android 2.1 on a Samsung Moment. KansasCityJoe, being a busy urban dude, has not posted any evidence, however, and other forum readers quickly called him out on it.

Fast forward 3 days to today and what do you know - Joe posted 7 pictures, indeed showing the Moment running Android 2.1. With all disbelievers squelched, Joe also added this interesting speculation:

Well word has it that they have found some more problems (I haven't seen any personally).

Don't Wait For Verizon To Update Your Droid To 2.1 - Do It Yourself And Do It Now

Yesterday, Verizon released the Motorola Droid 2.1 update schedule which turned out to be so drawn out that by the end of it, we would have seen Android 5.0 (OK, not really but it could take 2-3 weeks).

Who wants to wait this long? It didn't take long for some smart folks over at AndroidForums to figure out where the update was located on Google's servers and provide instructions on how to accomplish it in a few easy steps. Here they are:

If you have rooted your phone, the 2.1 update will unroot you back.

Sprint HTC Hero Android 2.1 Update Delayed Again, New Tentative Release Date Is Now April 9th

Rumors have been flying for the past few months that Sprint and HTC would update the Hero to the long awaited Android 2.1 Eclair today - March 26th, 2010.

These rumors have been shattered today by conversations with multiple Sprint customer service reps and a posting of an internal memo by Phandroid announcing the new update date - April 9th, 2010.

While the memo lists the 4/9/10 update as "maintenance", according to an alleged Sprint employee rkendle53 from the xda forums Sprint calls all updates "maintenance", even major ones. We are skeptical but hopeful at the same time - this 2.1 update is long overdue.
