If you're looking to save a hundred bucks or so on the powerhouse Optimus G from LG on either AT&T or Sprint, Amazon Wireless is the place to be. The company just dropped the price of the device for both carriers down to $99, which is a fairly substantial savings for such a high-end device, especially compared to the $199 that both Sprint and AT&T are asking.

For those who may not be aware, the Optimus G has the same hardware guts as the Nexus 4:

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core at 1.5GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 320
  • Network Compatibility: AT&T: GSM quad-band with LTE, Sprint: CDMA with LTE
  • Operating System: Android 4.0.4 with Optimus UI 3.0
  • Display: 4.7" TrueHD IPS+ 768x1280 (320DPI, 15:9)
  • Memory: 2GB RAM / 16/32GB storage (depends on model)
  • Cameras: 1.3MP front, 8/13MP rear (depends on model)
  • Battery: 2100mAh, non-removable
  • NFC: Yes
  • Ports / Expandable Storage: microUSB / microSD (AT&T model only)
  • Thickness: 8.45mm
  • Weight: 145g

As noted above, the big difference between the two is in the area of storage: the AT&T model comes equipped with 16GB on-board, as well as a 16GB microSD card; whereas the Sprint version has 32GB with no microSD card slot.

Do you have a hankering for a big phone? Before you answer, know that I'm talking about a massive mobile phone with a stylus here. Well, there's a big phone deal going on if you're willing to hitch your wagon to AT&T for two years. Yes, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is on sale for just $249.99.

note

The Note II is selling for $300 or more on other carriers, and AT&T itself is still asking $300 from the unwashed masses.

If you're convinced that LTE is the way to go and aren't interested in picking up the Nexus 4, then Amazon Wireless is running a couple of deals right now for those who have been considering making the jump the Sprint.

First off, the HTC EVO LTE is now only $20. Twenty. Not a bad deal for such a solid phone, especially if you plan on installing CyanogenMod 10 on it.

There are two types of people in this world: those who stick with the same carrier for decades at a time, and those who jump from one to another in order get the best phones. If you fall into the latter category, now may be the time to head over to AT&T, because the HTC One X just dropped to a penny at Amazon Wireless.

Sure, HTC may have already announced the One X+ with AT&T as its exclusive provider here in the States, but that doesn't take away from what a solid device the original One X is right now.

The Atrix HD is probably the best Motorola smartphone on AT&T right now. If you happen to fancy Moto's hardware and are in the market for a new phone on Big Blue, you're in luck: it's now basically free from Amazon Wireless for new contract and upgrading customers.

Specs:

  • 4.5" ColorBoost display with Gorilla Glass
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8MP rear shooter, 2MP front camera
  • Android 4.0

This deal is good for both the white and black versions of the device, so pick your favorite, hit the appropriate link below, and enjoy your new phone.

If you walk into AT&T right now to buy the HTC One X and sign a new agreement, you'll not only be overrun by people trying to get the new iPhone, but pay $100 for it. Here's a better idea: stay home, head over to Amazon Wireless, and get the same phone for just $20 (if you're opening a new AT&T account). You'll avoid the crowd, standing in line, and having to listen to some salesman tell you to buy some other phone that's not nearly as good.

The DROID RAZR M just landed on Verizon yesterday for $99. A little while later, it dropped to $80 on Wirefly. Now, you can get both the white and black versions from Amazon Wireless for just $50 with a new two-year agreement (proof that you should never order anything directly from the carrier, especially on launch day). If you're already a Verizon customer, you can still get this solid mid-ranger for $70, which is $10 cheaper than anywhere else.

Looking to switch up your carrier situation? Today might be a good time to look into doing just that, as Amazon Wireless has put the AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon versions of the Galaxy S III 16GB (any color) on sale for just $99 with a new 2-year agreement (upgrades are not eligible).

But seriously, don't buy the red one. Please.

You can see the eligible phones here (the 32GB models shown are not part of the deal, unfortunately).

Despite the fact that we're pretty sure to see the unveiling of Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 at IFA this year, there are undoubtedly still some folks out there still looking to get their hands on the original. If you're among them, you're in luck – Amazon Wireless is offering the AT&T-connected, 5.3" Super AMOLED display-toting Galaxy Note for just $159.99 (a cool $40 off AT&T's price for those keeping count). We haven't seen a deal this good on the AT&T Note since way back in February, meaning those still waiting for a discount would be well advised to check this out.

The Sony Xperia Ion, which we first saw back at CES (and later saw as an AT&T exclusive device), while not a flagship superphone, is definitely a decent device – it packs a dual-core snapdragon processor at 1.5GHz, a 4.55" LCD display at 720x1280 (~323ppi), 1GB RAM, and a 1900mAh battery.

If you like the looks of the Ion but are still waiting for just the right deal before pulling the trigger, this is it.
