Microsoft Office isn't what it used to be. Now instead of plopping down a sizable upfront payment for software you could use indefinitely, customers commit to paying a monthly fee. Yet either way, every company needs at least one person who knows how to get the software running and whose job it is to ensure that things stay that way. Microsoft's latest Android app, Office 365 Admin, is for them.

This app comes to Android only a month after the launch of the Windows Phone version, and it looks largely the same.

Google Apps administrators now have a new toy to add to their box of goodies. Following the release of a new Admin Console and a new Admin SDK, Google has also rolled out a brand new Android app to the mix. For those in control and on the go, you now have the ability to add or suspend users, reset passwords, manage group memberships, directly contact users by phone or email, and audit the logs.

The Facebook application for Android received a nice little update today, making the earlier 1.6 update feel a bit more complete. In addition to streamlining the new, prettier newsfeed UI (screenshot #1), v1.6.1 brings these to the table:

  • Comment likes, as promised by the 1.6 beta but never delivered until now (screenshot #2).
  • Proper page support, with 2 listings - pages you've created and pages you like (screenshot #3).
I'll give you a minute to find how to get there.
