[Update: It's Gone] Google Adds Work Chrome To The Play Store For Reasons Not Immediately Apparent

Update: Just as mysteriously as it entered the Play Store, Work Chrome has left - its listing appears to have been removed.

The idea behind Google's Android Work effort is to allow users of enterprise devices (whether BYOD or company-provided) to use the apps they're familiar with in one unified experience that keeps work and personal data separate. Work data will stay secure, with Android Work providing restrictions and controls for what can be done with the data, while personal data is readily accessible without needing to install any special third-party apps or launchers.

[New App] Microsoft Releases Office 365 Admin App So IT Administrators Can Keep Tabs On Service Health And Status Updates

Microsoft Office isn't what it used to be. Now instead of plopping down a sizable upfront payment for software you could use indefinitely, customers commit to paying a monthly fee. Yet either way, every company needs at least one person who knows how to get the software running and whose job it is to ensure that things stay that way. Microsoft's latest Android app, Office 365 Admin, is for them.

[New App] Google Admin App Lands On The Play Store, Feeds Your God Complex A Little Bit At A Time

Google Apps administrators now have a new toy to add to their box of goodies. Following the release of a new Admin Console and a new Admin SDK, Google has also rolled out a brand new Android app to the mix. For those in control and on the go, you now have the ability to add or suspend users, reset passwords, manage group memberships, directly contact users by phone or email, and audit the logs.

[Hands-On] Facebook For Android Updated To v1.6.1, Say Hello To Comment Likes, Liked And Admined Pages, Commenting As Page Admin, And More

The Facebook application for Android received a nice little update today, making the earlier 1.6 update feel a bit more complete. In addition to streamlining the new, prettier newsfeed UI (screenshot #1), v1.6.1 brings these to the table:

  • Comment likes, as promised by the 1.6 beta but never delivered until now (screenshot #2).
  • Proper page support, with 2 listings - pages you've created and pages you like (screenshot #3).
