It's hard to believe something as wacky as Sony's QX series of add-on smartphone lenses could be considered "conventional." But compared to the QX1 leaked yesterday, which may allow any Sony E-series lens to mount onto a standard phone, the new QX30 is rather plain. Sony Alpha Rumors posted shots of the newest member of the QX family, which includes an impressive 30x optical zoom (4.3mm-129mm) in the same form factor.

16GB of on-board storage? Pathetic. 32GB MicroSD card? Miserly. Samsung is teaming up with its subsidiary Seagate to provide an add-on mobile storage solution that should outstrip just about everything out there, and do a few more tricks as well. The "Samsung Wireless" device is combination Wi-Fi/USB portable hard drive and portable battery with a gigantic 1.5TB capacity, set to sell for $179. Unfortunately there's no reliable release date, and it's not available on the Samsung store at the moment.

PushBullet version 12.2 has just hit the Play Store, and it brings with it a healthy selection of incremental updates that round out an already pleasant user experience. One new such feature is the ability to set how long mirrored notifications stick around on your computer before fading away.

The app also now shows upload progress when pushing a file and gives users the ability to tap a download to cancel it.

Dolphin Browser has always been one of the better browser alternatives on Android, and with version 8.0, it's about to get a bit better. In addition to a nice even version number, the update adds a menu bar along the bottom of the browser, an improved Add-on sidebar that's not confusing to look at, and a shiny new Dolphin button for easy access to the Dolphin Sonar and Gesture features.

The new menu bar is more than a little reminiscent of Android's Action Bar, however this one is still only triggered when you press the menu button, so it's not quite as handy.

Adobe has unveiled Shadow, a new way for front-end web developers that aims to make designing and testing your website layouts on multiple screen sizes an absolute breeze. Shadow is actually a collection of tools consisting of:

Once you install the two desktop components on your computer and the mobile apps on all your development devices, you simply pair each one via a simple pin into a single network of sorts, and voila - say hello to synchronized browsing and refreshing in Chrome.

Dolphin Browser, a popular alternative to Android's stock internet app, gained one more awesome add-on recently, this time adding compatibility with Box, a secure cloud storage service, enabling users to save files from the web directly to their own cloud space.

The add-on not only allows users to upload files directly from webpages, but locally stored downloads, and webpages as well, making it easier than ever to sync your browser activities and content with Box for viewing or sharing later.

Although Sprint's data plans are significantly cheaper than their competition, there was still some outcry when Sprint decided to charge a $10 monthly add-on charge to phones with 4G connectivity, even if your area isn't actually covered by their WiMax network. Now, however, all smartphones activated after January 30 will be subject to the same charge.

Sprint's reasoning - that “building, maintaining and expanding wireless data networks isn’t free" - is sound, and you can't argue that they still beat every other carrier when it comes to the price of their data plans.

Looks like Sprint's $10 per month "premium data" fee (I like to call it the "4G tax") is coming back to bite them - a class action lawsuit was recently filed against the carrier.

Customers of the HTC EVO 4G as well as the Samsung Epic 4G may be "interested to know" that they can call the law offices of Scott A. Bursor at 646-504-7781 to confirm that they have indeed been charged the $10/month fee.

In an effort to make it easier to access AndroidPolice news on the go, we have partnered with the makers of the Dolphin HD browser to release a Dolphin RSS add-on for AndroidPolice.com. This add-on is a basic RSS app with a 1-click access to the latest AnderoidPolice headlines.

Power users may not be too impressed by the simplicity of this app and may instead add our RSS feed in their favorite RSS readers instead (such as Newsrob).
