Gameloft - the makers of Asphalt, BackStab, and a boatload of other popular Android games - rode into the Google Play Store today with Six-Guns, bringing a Red Dead Redemption-esque shooter to players everywhere.

Following the story of Buck Crosshaw, an outlaw who is presumed dead, Six-Guns allows players to ride through an "open world" set in Arizona and Oregon, fighting off other outlaws as well as vampires and "many other unnatural foes," stirred by a mysterious ancient force.

Six-Guns offers 40 missions, each with a unique set of challenges, taking players across thoughtfully crafted environments and introducing numerous waves of enemies to fight through.

The hits just keep on coming from DotEmu. After releasing retro gaming classic Another World for Android yesterday, the game developer announced that it would also be bringing Little Big Adventure (no relation to Little Big Planet), another cult classic game from the 90s to Android this fall.

Little Big Adventure may not be a staple of retro gaming in the same way that Mario or Sonic are (those sellouts), but the game garnered quite the following in its time. Released just a couple years before the Nintendo 64, the game made a move to integrate 3-dimensional polygon graphics into a free-roaming environment.

Thumbstar Games, whose previous work appears to be an Android version of that game they played in Hackers, has launched its new shooter/tower defense game for Android, Meltdown on Mars. The game is reminiscent of Gun Bros., with some tower defense elements adding an extra layer of strategy to the game.

The game utilizes a dual-virtual-joystick system to move and shoot. You can also create and upgrade towers to help you defeat the incoming invasion. The game is a nice blend of action and strategy. Straight tower defense games are fun, but can get a little tedious once you've settled into a strategy and wait for the automated enemies to come flooding in.

Gamevil released another treat to the Android Market today, introducing Arel Wars – a game that promises "RPG action and defense strategy," and doesn't disappoint.

The game is kind of a cross between tower defense, real-time strategy, and RPG, packing the best of all three into a colorful, spritely world, taking players through 120 levels and across 8 unique maps. Before each match, players must choose their arsenal of powers and minions, which can be upgraded and reproduced throughout each round. To make things a bit more dynamic, each hero specie has its own tactical advantages and individual skills. Winning matches pushes players up the ladder, allowing for upgraded skills and units, which can form almost infinite tactical combinations.

Fans of the ZENONIA series, listen up! Another iteration of the iconic action RPG just landed in the Android Market. ZENONIA 4: Return of the Legend marks the first installment in the series to offer "full HD," making it the "best looking ZENONIA ever."

The game builds off of the same dynamic gameplay that you've come to expect from the series, bringing with it enhancements and improvements along the way. In Z4, you can choose between four classes of characters: Slayer, Blader, Ranger, or Druid, and battle your way through a new world. The game features normal, hard, and hell modes of play, so you can put yourself to the test.

Introduction

Half Breed, by iNoko Studios, is an alien-themed shooter that just landed on the Android Market today. As the title indicates, you play the role of a mysterious being who wakes up to find that he is now half-man and half-alien. If that wasn't enough, this creature has a whole arsenal of crazy powers, and is bent on seeking revenge against the people who made him this way.

Gameplay

There are two different game modes in Half Breed, story and multiplayer. Unfortunately, multiplayer isn't true online gameplay, as the only way to take advantage of it is to play with a friend over a Wi-Fi connection.

Remember SoulCraft THD, the awesome action RPG game we mentioned last month? Well, the open beta finally hit the Android Market today, bringing angels, demons, apocalypse, and rich, realistic environments to your Tegra device. Check out the video below for a taste of the action:

SoulCraft THD allows you to play as an angel (with human and demon options coming later), taking part in a compelling story, set at a time when humans are on the brink of discovering the secret of eternal life.

The game takes players through several real (and realistic) locations including Venice, Rome, and Hamburg (with more locations coming soon), using weapons and spells to battle "lots of different and diversified enemies" as you decide who will win this epic war.

Action & Adventure

Grand Theft Auto III

This could possible be the best release of 2011. Maybe its the free-roam type of world, or the possibility to create mass chaos anywhere, but the GTA series has always enticed me and I could never pass up buying every consol game the day it released.

Looking to give players "the ultimate 3rd person shooter" experience, Glu Mobile has released Frontline Commando to the Android Market.

Frontline Commando charges players with avenging fellow soldiers who fell during a renegade attack on a ruthless dictator. Frontline includes a wide array of weaponry and stunning "console quality visuals," making it a compelling and dynamic war action game. The thrill of warding off enemy forces is enhanced by sophisticated physics, destructible objects, and a variety of challenging missions.

Considering the fact that Frontline Commando is absolutely free in the Android Market, there's no reason not to give this 3rd person shooter a try.

Any time a new game shows up in NVIDIA's TegraZone, we immediately hop on to take a look - after all, only the best of the best games with gorgeous graphics make it that far.

The newest addition to TegraZone this time around is Meltdown On Mars THD - it's what I would call a mix of tower defense and Gun Bros, executed in a way kind of similar to Dungeon Defenders. You can move your main character around freely like in an RPG/action game, all while planting defensive turrets, barricades, and mines in an effort to survive waves of alien attacks.
