Take this with a massive grain of salt, but BGR has just let loose an article detailing what they claim will be either the next Nexus phone or, if not a Nexus, simply the new Android reference handset. Far more exciting than that is what BGR's source has told them what kind of features the phone will be packing:

A 720p "monster-sized" display - exact size unknown (also, goodbye qHD - nice knowing you)
Dual-core processor @1.2 or 1.5GHz (either a TI OMAP 4460 or a ULP Qualcomm 28nm Krait Snapdragon)

Based on a tweet by Cyanogen, the G2 isn't going to be sporting another rehash of the Snapdragon family of chipsets that has come to dominate HTC devices for the past 6 months.

[Video] 720P Recording Lands On CyanogenMod 6 (Froyo) For The Nexus One

No longer should Nexus One owners be jealous of their HTC Desire brethren. We’ve seen High-Def on the N1 before, and thanks to the continued hard work of Charan Singh and Cyanogen over at XDA-Developers, 1280 x 720 recording has finally come to an AOSP version of Froyo 2.2. The update.zip will only work for CyanogenMod versions greater than RC2, but it is expected to be ported to the popular LeoFroyo ROM and, who knows, maybe even the stock version of N1 Froyo in the future. The Current Droid Incredible OTA Update Situation - Froyo Is Coming

Many blogs and websites have reported over the past several days that an OTA update was coming for the Droid Incredible which included the following updates:

720p video recording (sweeeeeeet!)
Verizon’s mobile hotspot app
Integrated Skype app
Cool new “Droid” boot animation

For the record, I’ve had my Incredible since the beginning of May and have seen only one minor update (update 1) since then. Apparently, this most recent OTA was a "rolling" update and was supposed to hit Incredible owners over the last week or so.

Nexus One Gets 720p HD Video Recording In A Patch To CyanogenMod

Nexus One is still alive and pretty much kicking, especially thanks to the community. Since Google won't push new features to it, the community has to.

First Cyanogen added support for 802.11n WiFi in CyanogenMod, and now about half an hour ago, an xda-developers forum member by the name of charnsingh_online announced that he made a patch for CyanogenMod which enabled 720p video recording in the Nexus One.

The only requirement - CyanogenMod version of at least CM5.0.8test3, which means - yes, you need a rooted N1 running CM and not the stock OS.
