Google Docs Free Storage Limit Gets Bumped From 1GB To 5GB Ahead Of Imminent Google Drive Announcement

The mythical unicorn Google Drive is so close, we can practically taste it. Earlier today, Reuters broke the news of a possible Tuesday launch (that would be today), confirming earlier rumors of an initial free 5GB quota and throwing a new number, 100GB of upgradeable storage, into the mix.

It's quite possible that Reuters' sources were on the money this time, as around the same time, Google started bumping the usual free 1GB Docs storage limit all the way up to... you guessed it - 5GB. Check it out:

Additional pricing still remains at $0.25/GB, but this could change with the official announcement.

HTC Joins Together With Dropbox, Offers 5GB Of Cloud Storage On All Sense 3.5 Handsets

Not into the girl-centric HTC Rhyme? How about 5GB of free cloud storage courtesy of Dropbox to sweeten the deal? No? Fine. Regardless of whether or not this makes the Rhyme more appealing to the testosterone-fueled among us, HTC has joined forces with Dropbox to up the amount of free cloud storage from 2GB to 5GB on all new and upcoming Sense 3.5 devices.

If you're hoping that your device will snag a Sense 3.5 update and some bonus cloud space to go with it, I wouldn't suggest holding your breath. Even if HTC bumps Sense up to 3.5 on any of its current devices, it's unlikely that the added Dropbox space will come along with it -- I'm sure they're reserving this bonus for those who are looking to pick up a new device.

Verizon Wireless Announces 4G LTE Details - Arriving December 5th With Ridiculously Expensive Data Plans

As expected, today Verizon Wireless officially unveiled its plans to light up more than 1/3 of America with the next generation 4G LTE network. The switch will be flipped this Sunday, December 5th, but since VZW doesn't have any LTE-enabled mobile phones just yet, the only way to get a taste of the new network will be using one of the two USB modems VZW will be offering: the LG VL600 or the Pantech UML290.

The coverage area is pretty impressive, considering this is the first time LTE will be rolled out in the US - 38 major metropolitan areas and over 60 airports, which is pretty much unchanged from our report in October (see the full list in the PR at the bottom of this post).
