There are people who don't care about weather forecasts (like me), people who do care (probably the majority of you), and then there are people who want to know everything about the weather to the point that these images a) make sense and b) replace porn for them. If you belong to the latter category and haven't bought the pricey $9.99 PYKL3 Radar yet, I have some good news that may just help pull the trigger.

The app is on sale for 50% off, making it $4.99. That's half of RadarScope's price too, which I would say is its primary competitor.

After a short delay, Sprint is now ushering Samsung's highly anticipated successor to the popular Galaxy S III to store shelves, but how much does it cost? New customers can pick up the Galaxy S4 with a two-year contract for $149, but existing customers looking to upgrade must plop down $249 to bring home the same phone. This isn't the best of news for current Sprint customers, but there is now another option available.

Amazon-GalaxyS4

As of today, Amazon is allowing existing Sprint customers to upgrade for $50 less. This brings the price of upgrading an existing contract down to levels resembling the price of starting a contract anew.

Amazon's Gold Box deals are some of my favorite discounts to check out every morning. In fact, outside of the Gold Box, the only other deal destinations I regularly visit are Amazon-owned MyHabit and TouchOfModern, a site full of inspiration and ultramodernism.

But back to the deal. If you've been eying Amazon's latest Kindle Fire HD 8.9" tablet (remember all those holidays that are coming at us fast?), today's Gold Box deal of the day should most definitely make it easier to pull the trigger.

The company is discounting all Fire HD 8.9" variants by a cool $50 - all you have to do is use coupon FIREHD89 at checkout:

Note: Add $15 if you're getting the version without special offers.

For CDMA users, the GSM-exclusive Nexus 4 can be a bit of a bummer. However, if you're looking for the same high-powered specs without leaving the Now Network, you can get the Optimus G which David was actually pretty impressed by. Right now, Wirefly and Sprint are both accepting pre-orders for this device, though the former is offering it for about $50 cheaper than you would pay getting it straight from the carrier.

Of course, that's with a new two year contract or an upgrade on your existing line. Still, it's a nice little chunk of change to have knocked off.

Residents of the great white north have a special treat coming up soon. The Galaxy Note II is coming to Mobilicity the day before Halloween. If you know you're going to want it on day one, though, you can sign up for a pre-order right now and get $50 off. Unfortunately, the ad doesn't specify just what price you'll get $50 off of.

One tipster sent in an email that he received after placing his order. The email seemed to have an additional stipulation that you must be one of the first 1,000 people to purchase and activate your phone. If there are more than 1,000 pre-orders, it's unclear if everyone will receive the $50 credit.

Cyber Monday always brings some pretty killer deals, and this one is no exception. If you're looking to jump on a pay-as-you-go carrier like Virgin Mobile, then today is the day to grab your new phone - three of the most popular Virgin devices, the Motorola Triumph, LG Optimus V, and Optimus Slider are all 50% off.

Motorola Triumph - $150

triumph_angle1

  • 4.1-inch display
  • 1Ghz processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 5MP rear shooter, VGA front
  • 2GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
  • Android 2.2

LG Optimus Slider - $100

lg_optimus_slider_angle1

  • 3.2-inch 320x480 display
  • 800MHz processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • microSD card slot
  • 3.2MP rear-shooter
  • Android 2.3

LG Optimus V - $65

lg_optimus_v_angle1

  • 3.2-inch display
  • 600MHz processor

While each of these phones are far from the latest-and-greatest, the fact that you can score a new device without contract for less the two-hundred bucks makes them very appealing.

As part of a back-to-school promotion, remote access software LogMeIn Ignition has received a temporary 50% cut off its normally $30 price tag, making it a very affordable $15. LogMeIn Ignition allows you to access your Mac or PC from anywhere using your smartphone or tablet and remote control it just as if you were sitting in front of it, quickly and easily providing access to all of your files and programs.

Another great use for LogMeIn is remote tech support -- we all have those family members who will call with an issue, and it's so much easier to do it yourself than to explain what needs to be done to someone who probably has little idea what you're talking about in the first place.

lg-revolution-2

If you're lookin' to score the newly-released LG Revolution, but the $250 price tag is a bit steep for you, then hop on over to Wirefly, where you can get VZW's newest 4G LTE device for $200. I realize that may not be the deal of the century, but c'mon - a deal is a deal, right?

2011-05-26 09h41_15

Not sure if this is the device for you? Check the specs:

  • 4.3 inch 800*480 display
  • 1GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 16GB Built-in Storage
  • 5MP rear camera with 720p video capture
  • 1.3MP front camera
  • Android 2.2
  • 4G LTE

So there you have it - if you want a 4G LTE phone, but the Droid Charge or HTC Thunderbolt aren't your cup of tea, then this is the way to go.

As  more high-end Android tablets hit the market, the prices can be pretty overwhelming (I'm talking to you, Motorola XOOM). While it doesn't sport cutting-edge specs, the 7" Barnes & Noble Nook Color has been taken on as a pet project by many in the development community (even running a mostly stable port of the Honeycomb SDK preview), and can be turned into a solid $250 tablet. Now, if you act quickly, you can change that to a $200 tablet when you snatch it up from the manufacturer's eBay account.

Here's how to get in on the action:

  1. Navigate to the correct listing by barnesandnobleinc
  2. Checkout with promo code CBARNESDD
  3. Enjoy your $200 (with free shipping) Android tablet!

The ViewSonic G Tablet is the most powerful Android tablet on the Market today, sporting a dual core Tegra 2 processor and dominating benchmarks, albeit after some tweaks that turn it into a beast. ViewSonic managed to screw up on the software side, which is fixable by the aforementioned tweaks, but the hardware is top notch, making it one of the hottest tablet gifts this holiday season.

Even at $400 or $380 that Sears has been selling it for, this 1GHz 10" Froyo tablet is a great deal, but this weekend, the price is even sweeter: $350, which is $50 off MSRP.
