Sprint has been steadily rolling out 4G LTE coverage to markets across the country, presenting new clusters every month or so. This month's list is significantly longer than usual. We're not looking at a couple dozen here, but 70. These areas are spread all throughout the country, but many of them are concentrated in the South, with new locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

Following on the heels of the white 32 GB Nexus 5, the black 32 GB version is now in stock on the US Google Play Store, leaving the warehouse in 1-2 days. If you weren't able to get your hands on a black 32 GB Nexus 5 originally, now's your chance. If you're in the market for a new phone, the Nexus 5 is certainly an attractive option with its hefty hardware specs and comparatively low price.

Today AT&T announced an agreement with Canadian wireless carrier Rogers that will enable its customers to have access to 4G LTE data speeds even when on the northern side of the border. This arrangement makes AT&T the first American carrier to offer international LTE roaming, but before some of you get too excited, know that this luxury still doesn't come cheaply.

AT&T customers can roam internationally by selecting a Data Global Add-On package, the same ones needed to access 3G.

Compared to Verizon and AT&T, Sprint's network leaves much to be desired in terms of both data speeds and coverage. This isn't the result of a lack of effort, though, as the Kansas-based company has steadily rolled out LTE to new markets throughout the summer. Today the company has announced the availability of 4G LTE in 34 new markets, bringing the total number from 151 up to 185. Sprint customers throughout the South, Midwest, North Carolina, Oregon, and Pennsylvania should now have a new reason to smile.

There was a time not long ago that you couldn't even get AT&T-compatible Straight Talk SIMs due to a mysterious shortage. Well, things have certainly turned around. Straight Talk has just started listing 4G LTE service for AT&T devices. You can break free from the traditional carriers, save some money, and still keep your LTE data. That's a deal.

Verizon got the jump on everyone with LTE, but AT&T has been doing its best to catch up. The carrier's newly announced upgrade plans should get it a fair way toward that goal. Ma Bell is flipping the switch on 5 new LTE markets and 8 expansions this very day, but the rate of the rollout is going to pick up for the rest of the year. AT&T plans to launch at least 50 new markets before January 1st.

Yes, it has finally happened. Verizon Wireless, fashionably late to the party, has let slip the date you can swing by and get the HTC One. The big day is August 22nd, and the phone will cost $199.99 with a 2-year contract. The device will be available online and in stores on that date.

Think of Sprint as the Little Engine That Could. It's tinkered with 4G perhaps longer than any of America's other major carriers, but it has little to show for it. There are large swaths of the country that don't have LTE coverage and the speeds aren't necessarily that fast in the areas that do. Still, those of us on Sprint's network must hold on to hope. The company is hard at work, and today they've announced the availability of 4G LTE in 41 new markets.

I just recently made the jump to an HTC One, but my last two phones were real stinkers. It's with this bad taste in my mouth that I am glad to see things improving on the budget end of things. US Cellular is debuting the ZTE Imperial, a Android 4.1 handset that doesn't make me hold my nose while reading its spec sheet. It comes with a 1.2 GHz dal-core processor, a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a front-facing camera for video chatting.
