[Rumor] Sprint Adds Los Angeles To List Of Planned Network Vision/LTE Markets For 2012

Just a few days after allegedly adding its NYC market to the list of 2012 LTE rollout locations, Sprint has evidently begun planning to light up the Los Angeles Metro area by the end of 2012 as well.

Sprint's Los Angeles Metro market currently spans all of Los Angeles County, including Avalon and Santa Catalina. According to S4GRU, Orange County, North LA, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Diego, and Lower Central Valley are included in different markets, and are expected to deploy some time after Los Angeles.

S4GRU also notes that while converting the necessary sites to Network Vision standards will take over 8 months, individual sites will be activated on a monthly basis, meaning customers who purchase Sprint's first round of 4G LTE-enabled devices will still have a chance of enjoying enhanced data speeds.

Gamevil Inc. has done it again, bringing the latest entry in its Baseball Superstars series to the Android Market today. The game invites users to "step up to the plate for the best baseball experience on the Android Market," and offers the same vivid, dynamic animation and gameplay players have come to expect.

In Baseball Superstars 2012, players will enjoy a variety of improvements, including gesture and tilt controls, "smart AI teammates," and total control over team management and customization. The game also allows players to train for skill points, special moves, and to work their way up from rookie to baseball superstar.

The game packs impressive graphics and customization options, and is even licensed by FIFPRO - meaning real players and leagues are used. Perhaps one of the most impressive features, though, is the ability to replay real-life games through an in-game news feed.

[CES 2012] Video Hands-On With The Motorola DROID 4

Late yesterday, we got a chance to spend some time with the Motorola DROID 4 over at the Verizon booth here at CES, and we have to say - It sure seems like Motorola has done it again. The DROID 4 will likely once again set the bar for QWERTY slider phones, and thanks to the addition of 4G LTE and a snappy TI OMAP 4430 dual-core processor (the same one found in the DROID RAZR), it's also going to be the fastest DROID yet.

Of course, the biggest feature on any DROID is the keyboard, and you can rest assured, the DROID 4's does not disappoint.

Archos: All G9 Tablets To Be Upgraded To Ice Cream Sandwich By First Week Of February '12

ASUS isn't the only one upgrading their tablets to Ice Cream Sandwich in the beginning of February - we were running around the South Hall at CES 2012 and ran into Archos, which, among other things, manufactures a whole series of G9 tablets (various combinations of 101 and 80).

Guess what - all of the G9 tablets are scheduled to receive ICS starting the first week of February (they did let everyone know it would happen "in the near future" a few days ago, but we were able to get the most up-to-date timeline today). If you happen to buy a unit before the end of February, chances are it'll still have Honeycomb on it (which you can then update immediately), but pre-updated G9s should trickle into the retail channels within a few weeks after the ICS release goes live.

Update: Due to a PR error, there was a bunch of confusion about the two 7" tablets unveiled by ASUS today. We've sorted it all out:

The Eee Pad MeMO ME370T is powered by Tegra 3 - that's the one that was just announced by NVIDIA for $249. It should be available in Q2'12.
The Eee Pad MeMO ME171 is powered by a Qualcomm 8260. ASUS told us it will be available in Feb'12 for $299.

Of course, I'm talking about the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) where almost 130 thousand people are going to be touching, drooling, ogling, and playing with countless products put on display by companies from all over the world, big and small. Hell, half the fun will be catching all the announcements of products we can't even touch yet - ones we may not see for many months. Tablets, phones, phablets, tabphones, 3G, 4G, 5G (OK, maybe not 5G just yet), dual-cores, quad-cores, Android-powered TVs, goggles, and even dongles - we'll see them all!
