Adding more fuel to the Nexus 7 rumor fire, Google has just pulled the 7" slate's 16GB variant off its virtual shelves, listing the device as "coming soon."

This comes after some fast and furious price drops were spotted at both GameStop and Office Depot, taking the 16GB N7 down to the rumor-approved $199 price point, perhaps in preparation for the arrival of a 32GB (and, dare we say, potentially 3G-enabled) variant of the device.

You may remember that the 8GB Nexus 7 met a similar fate just under one week ago after speculation that it may be getting canned for good, though we fully expect the 16GB version to make a return.

When I first got my 16GB Nexus 7, it was fast. Probably faster than any other Android device I'd ever used. Everything was fluid, apps launched quickly, and transitioning between open applications was the best experience that I'd ever had on Android.

I was in love.

Then, a couple weeks ago, it inexplicably started to lag. A lot. I had just installed a test build of Horn, so I assumed that had something to do with it and uninstalled the game. After a quick reboot, I expected all would go back to normal. I was wrong.

I checked to see if anything out of the ordinary was running in the background, but found nothing amiss.

If you haven't already picked up a Nexus 7, then you're missing out on what's easily the best Android tablet on the planet. And I don't say things like that lightly.

So, you poor Nexus 7-less soul, here's you chance to snag one for free. Thanks to our friends over at Beansoft, we have a few (read: three) 16GB models to give away. For free. To you.

If you don't already know who Beansoft is, pay attention. They make one of the best tablet-optimized keyboard that you'll find on the market: Thumb Keyboard. If you have a tablet, and you haven't at least tried TK as your software keyboard, you're seriously doing it wrong.

If you've been patiently waiting for the 16GB version of the Nexus 7 to make its way back into the Play Store, the wait is now over. The tablet dropped its "coming soon" status for "in stock" just a bit ago, and Google has already started sending out emails to users who signed up for updates on the device's status.

Still, if you don't want to wait for shipping, you may be better off hitting up the local Staples or Office Depot - we're still hearing word that many stores still have a stock of N7s to share with the world.

The Nexus 7, everyone's newest favorite tablet, has already had more than its share of problems shipping from the Play Store. Today, the new shenanigans are that the 16GB model is currently unavailable from the Play Store at all. The best Google has to offer is a "coming soon" button that offers to let customers sign up to be informed when the device comes back in stock.

The 16GB model, so far, has been particularly hard to find from Google, and particularly easy in retail locations. The best we can assume is that Google allotted more 16GB models to be shipped out for retail shipment, since the margins are higher on the 16GB model.

UPDATE: Many readers are reporting that the Nexus 7 is now on backorder from OfficeMax and that the coupon may not work any more. That being said, the website still indicates that the tablet will ship in 1 to 3 days. Let us know if you have any luck getting the discount.

There's no doubt that Google's Nexus 7 has been exceedingly hard to find since its launch. From nebulous shipping schedules to stock problems at brick and mortar stores, customers everywhere have had a hard time getting their hands on the device.

Luckily, it has been discovered that OfficeMax has Google's hit 7" tablet in stock (shipping in "1 to 3 days") for $219.99 when you apply a coupon code over the phone.

It hasn't been too long since the Galaxy S III finally started landing on US carriers, but the price drops and deals have already started. If you're on Sprint, or want to be, you can get $50 knocked off the cost of a Galaxy S III from Amazon Wireless. The device is currently available via the site for $149.99 for new and upgrading customers.

A few days ago, Radioshack started this trend by being the first retailer to drop the phone to $149.99, and now it looks like others finally followed. Considering Amazon doesn't charge tax in most states and has amazing customer service, this latest offer seems like a winner.

With Samsung's Galaxy SIII (finally) hitting Sprint a few days ago, those looking to snatch a unit already have a few deals to take advantage of. The best of them (so far) is from RadioShack Wireless. RadioShack is currently offering the Galaxy SIII (in its Pebble Blue, 16GB form) for just $149.99 for those opening a new account or upgrading their current device.

Both Amazon and Wirefly are offering the same device for the slightly higher (yet still discounted) price of $179.99 for new accounts and upgrades. It's worth noting that Wirefly is currently throwing in a free 16GB microSD card with your purchase.

After a relatively dreary news day, TmoNews breathed life into the Android world with an exciting leak many of us have been anticipating for quite some time: the release date of the T-Mobile Galaxy S III.

T-Mobile's editions of the device - which are among the few potential challengers to HTC's superb One X - will begin sale on (drum roll please) June 20th. There'll reportedly be two colors - metallic blue and ceramic white - as well as two storage capacities: 16GB and 32GB. However, if it's the ceramic white version you're after, you won't be able to grab it until July 11th; and even then, it appears it'll only be available in the 16GB capacity.

Today has been a great day for those looking to get their hands on Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1. Earlier, we saw the 10.1 on sale from Daily Steals at $340 with free shipping, and now Woot is offering a refurbished 16GB 10.1 for just $319.99 with $5 shipping. If you're worried about the Tab's "refurbished" status, don't fret – this usually just means you'll receive a unit that was purchased and returned, possibly even unopened.

Here are the specs one more time:

  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB built-in storage
  • 3MP rear shooter, 2MP front-facing camera
  • Android 3.2 with TouchWiz UX
