After Football Manager Mobile, SEGA Releases Football Manager Touch 2016 For Tablets, With 50% More Dimensions For 100% More Dollars

Just last week SEGA published Football Manager Mobile 2016, a version of its long-running soccer management sim that skips out on fancy graphics in order to make it play nice with older hardware. Now Football Manager Touch 2016, a more high-powered version with full 3D simulated football matches, has joined it. SEGA's naming scheme is a little convoluted: Touch is more of a high-end game than Mobile, though both of them support mobile hardware and touch controls.

It's also much more expensive. FMM2016 wasn't cheap at $8.99 plus in-app purchases, but Football Manager Touch 2016 costs a whopping  $19.99... and yes, it still has in-app purchases, up to $6.99.

[Deal Alert] The Mattel View-Master VR, Which Also Works As A Google Cardboard Headset, Is On Sale For $20 At Amazon And Wal-Mart

I don't think anyone realized just how widespread Google's Cardboard "virtual reality" standard would become when it was first announced. And as neat as some of the games and apps that use Cardboard are, it's hard to escape the fact that the headsets are, well, made of cardboard. If you'd like something more sturdy (without having to buy a new LG phone), you can grab one of Mattel's revitalized View-Master VR toys. The original price was a bit steep at thirty bucks, but today Amazon and Wal-Mart are selling them for $19.97, a little closer to impulse buy range and pretty decent stocking-stuffers to boot.

Google Hires A Dedicated Team To Implement Support For The Vulkan Graphics API In Upcoming Versions Of Android

Unless you regularly develop video games or other visually-intensive programs, you probably don't know what Vulkan is. That's OK. But if you are in the habit of developing visually complex apps for Android, the news that Google plans to support the Vulkan API is a big deal indeed. And it looks like the company intends to jump into the Vulkan pool with both feet: Google has just hired an entire team of dedicated Vulkan developers and folded them into the Android team.

Here's the gist: Vulkan is a cross-platform, low-overhead graphics API created by a consortium called Khronos (get it?). The advantage of Vulkan over other standards is that it gives developers direct access to GPU hardware, allowing a game to manually manage things like GPU cores and memory.

Fossil Q Founder Android Wear Watch Now On Sale For $295

All the Android Wear watches you've been able to purchase so far have been made by technology firms moonlighting as watchmakers. The Fossil Q Founder is the first one that's the other way around. [Finally] Verizon LG G4 Getting Major OTA With Touchscreen Fixes And Other Goodies

If you're an LG G4 owner on Verizon, you may have heard about all the drama surrounding the phone's "touchscreen fix update" that has since rolled out on every other US carrier. Back on October 9, Big Red began rolling out this OTA as firmware VS98612A, but it was pulled two days later due to a major bug affecting the device's ability to receive push notifications while connected to Wi-Fi. A month-and-a-half later, Verizon and LG seem to have gotten their stuff together, and have now released a new OTA which shouldn't have the same problems that the original 12A update had. In addition to the long-awaited touchscreen fixes, people are also reporting that this update includes a new slow motion option in the camera app, and unlinks the ringer, notification, and system volumes a-la the LG G3.
