At the end of October, Rockstar Studios announced that the mobile version of its smash-hit Grand Theft Auto: Vice City would be coming to Android and iOS. Now, it has announced an official release date of December 6, with a $4.99 price tag across all platforms.

The release marks the 10th anniversary of a game many remember from the Xbox and Playstation 2. This version will be enhanced for mobile screens, including updated character models, lighting, and different control options that should make the experience as smooth as possible.

Since Android 4.2 introduced native lockscreen widgets, we've seen several devs already push out updates to their apps with support for the feature. The latest to do so is LevelUp Studio, which updated its Twitter client Plume. This is actually my personal favorite when it comes to Twitter clients on Android, especially for tablets. So I was pretty glad to see the 4.2 lockscreen widget show up.

The update also brings a few other fixes and enhancements to the app:

- add a lockscreen widget on Android 4.2
- fix the widget context on Android 4.2
- fix the display of the DM recipient
- fix Facebook timeline not updating in some case
- fix unread list item appearing multiple times
- improve the picture cache coherence
- make Halloween notification sound available all the time

Plume is, of course, a free app in the Play Store, though there's also a $5 premium version available for those who prefer an ad-free experience.

It's been a couple months in coming, but the first in an episodic series of Avengers games is live on the Play Store now. In case you've forgotten, this edition features the Hulk, leading the effort to round up a number of supervillains that escaped during a breakout of The Vault. To celebrate the launch, Marvel and NVIDIA are offering the game for a special promo price of $4.99 (normally $6.99).

mintnew

For as long as I can remember, I've been using Mint to manage my personal finances. It syncs with all my accounts/credit cards, and the mobile app is pretty fantastic. Today, the Mint team pushed a pretty major update to the app in the Play Store, which brings a whole slew of new features to both the phone and tablet interfaces:

Phone Enhancements:
- Edit Budgets
- Create New Budgets
- Split Transactions
- Updated UI based on Android 4.0 Guidelines
- Updated Widget
- Squished Bugs
Tablet Enhancements:
- Split Transactions
- Net Income Over Time Trend
- Updated Widget
- Squished Bugs

With additions like the ability to edit/create budgets and split transactions (!), I can almost completely abandon the Mint website and manage all my finances completely from a phone or tablet.

When I first covered Pixlr Express a few days ago, I noted that the presence of a photo editing app was odd in Autodesk's lineup of powerful tools. Having developed apps like ForceEffect, 360 Mobile, and AutoCAD WS, you'd think Autodesk was marketing to power users who want to design, edit, animate, and engineer from the palm of their hand. Still, Autodesk's first foray into the mobile photo editing world – Pixlr-o-matic – was a hit.
