If you're like me, you love smartphones, but you aren't willing to put up with an oppressive two-year contract just to have one. Unfortunately, unless you happen to have $600 lying around, that means you have to settle for hardware that leaves much to be desired. Thankfully, the times are a-changin'. The LG Optimus F7 is a pretty solid device, and while it's not quite the premium piece of high-performance hardware that Boost Mobile pitches it as, it's a great phone to pick up for carrier's launch price of $299.
We all knew it couldn't go on forever. After resetting API tokens for a second time, Falcon Pro has apparently earned the ire of Twitter. According to developer Joaquim Vergès, Twitter seems to have shut the application down. And just after it got that spiffy new icon!
Wtf? I wake up one day after resetting keys and they're already all used? Did twitter just shut me down?
Frozen Synapse is a turn-based tactical strategy game designed especially for tablets. It debuted in the Humble Bundle yesterday, but was only exclusive for a few hours. The game has now hit Google Play, but the price serves to illustrate how amazing the Humble Bundle truly is.
This indie game has garnered high praise from reviewers. Frozen Synapse comes with 55 single-player missions and cross-platform multiplayer with multiple game modes. The visuals look very interesting – like a virtual reality game seen from above.
Hero of Many is a side-scrolling game featuring that silhouette style that so many indie games love these days. You play as a glowing nucleus of energy, leading a "swarm of water beings" around, fighting bad, black water thingies. They are definitely not sperm cells.
The game is played with no words, which is not a romantic metaphor. Your nucleus collects new pieces and expands, which is not a visual representation of a growth cycle.
There's a lot of speculation floating around right now about the "reactivation" of the DROID Landing Twitter account, which is typically used by Verizon to tease new DROID phones. Unfortunately, we're going to have to deflate some of that speculation. Here are the tweets from the account this afternoon:
Reactivation protocols initiated ::: Systems nearing operational status ::: Stand by for further instructions...
America's three best channels for wasting an evening have all just received Android streaming apps, with limited access to full episodes without any TV subscription necessary on all three.
That's right - you can get full streaming episodes of some shows without providing credentials of any kind, though subscribers of Comcast and DirecTV will receive a larger pool of content to choose from than those who choose not to log in.
Minuum Keyboard launched an IndieGoGo campaign back in March, and by the time it was over in April, the developers had raised almost $90,000. That's 873% of the goal. It was a big vote of confidence from Android users, but Minuum promised something unique – a keyboard that takes up only a tiny strip of screen real estate, yet still provides all the functionality you need. It sounds crazy on the face of it, but what if it's not just smoke and mirrors?
In the last few years, wireless speakers have exploded onto the scene with prices ranging from sub-$100 utility speakers up to a few thousand dollars for large home theater packages. A fairly new competitor, Wren, is trying to place itself in the ever more lucrative high-end bookshelf market. With a lineup of 3 wireless speakers priced at $399 each, the company is trying to take some attention away from the current leader, Sonos.
