[Deal Alert] Refurbished Original Galaxy Gear Available On eBay Daily Deals Today For $99

The original Galaxy Gear was a tough sell at $299. Heck, even at the $199 price you can find it for these days, it's still a tough sell. Let's be honest, even paying that much for any of the quarter-dozen Gears Samsung replaced the gadget with takes some convincing. But $99? That's a number I can get behind, and it's one I'm sure some of you can as well. Today eBay Daily Deals has the Galaxy Gear, refurbished, available in three colors for precisely that amount.

Leaked Photos Of The Purported LG G3 Show That the Smartphone Gold Rush Is Far From Over

We've steered clear of many of the rumored photos of the upcoming LG flagship refresh, if only because they weren't very good or very clear. But the latest spy shots from GSM Arena look like the real deal: an "LG G3" that brings the company's top-of-the-line phone back in a bigger and more evolved form. Oh, and it's gold. Very, very gold.

Compared to the international version of the G2, this phone looks a little bigger and less rounded, and the front façade has been given an overhaul with a case-colored insert beneath the glass screen.

[New Game] Aliens Drive Me Crazy Provides Just As Good A Reason As Any To Stand Up To An Alien Invasion

Rebel Twins, the developer of Daddy Was A Thief, is back with another zany Android game. Aliens Drive Me Crazy puts you in the shoes of a young lad who is understandably upset when aliens decide to invade. He grabs his nearest weapon, hops in the car, and speeds off. Despite the difference in concept, the gameplay is largely similar to Rebel Twins' previous work. Players hop between floors by swiping up and down, collecting coins, overcoming foes, and rescuing innocent Earthlings in the process.

[New Game] Action-Platformer Dark Lands Hits Play Store After Cancelling A Kickstarter To Go With Bulkypix As Publisher

Sometimes you can just tell something is evil from the silhouette. Giant scorpion? Evil. Flying lizard-thing with long talons? Also evil. There are all sorts of evil silhouettes to kill in Dark Lands, a game that took a run at Kickstarter earlier this year before pulling out to go with publisher Bulkypix. Now you can grab it on Android. Well? Goblins, orcs, skeletons, and trolls aren't just going to slay themselves.

[New App] Yahoo News Digest Presents The Day's Goings-On With Focus And Style

Yahoo has released another Android app and - hey, come back here, this is actually cool - it's an attractive take on providing the news. Yahoo News Digest gathers bits of news from around the Internet (various reports, video, Wikipedia entries, Google maps, etc.) and puts them together to form a single story. The formula isn't quite the same as Circa's, but it should seem familiar to anyone accustomed to that bite-sized news app. Presentation is half the appeal here, and you may be pleased to know that Yahoo has done a good job creating an app that doesn't offensively ignore all of Android's taste in design.

[New Game] SEGA's Dragon Coins Combines Pokemon With A Weird Coin-Shooting Arcade Game, For Some Reason

Google's recent foray into Maps-based monster catching has proven that even full-grown Android users love them some Pokemon. Maybe that's why storied publisher SEGA has decided to make its own entry in the monster-catching genre. But why, oh why, is the core mechanic in Dragon Coins based around those little quasi-gambling quarter-shooter arcade games?

Try to follow along here: in Dragon Coins, your party of anime-style monsters is represented by little drawers in a shelf.

Sprint Announces HTC One Max OTA Software Update Enabling Wi-Fi Calling [Update: Sense 6, Too]

Update: Apparently the update should also bump HTC One Max owners up to Sense 6. This may turn out to be quite the OTA.

SprintWiFiCalling2

Wi-Fi calling is great for people who still have plans that don't supply an unlimited number of minutes or during those times when cell reception in a particular location is less than stellar, as it lets customers place phone or send text messages over a Wi-Fi connection instead. Sprint started rolling out the feature to a hyper limited number of devices earlier this year, and now the carrier has announced an OTA upcoming enabling the feature for another somewhat peripheral device, the HTC One Max.
